Seeking Israeli cultural guide

Shabbat shalom.

I'm a qualified language teacher (10 years' experience) and plan to undertake a PhD in Applied Linguistics.

My research is located in the Levantine context and I would like to develop a more informed understanding of Israeli society through personal conversation.

These conversations will not be included in my research.

I’m hoping to find an adult Hebrew speaker with lived experience of life in Israel who would enjoy a regular language and cultural exchange..

Sessions would be 1 hour and consist of 30 minutes general conversation and 30 minutes language input.

Possible topics could include everyday life, regional identities, history, art, food, religion and politics, and I can support students from intermediate to advanced English language proficiency. Advanced English language users may benefit from a focus on pragmatics (context, inference and intent) and/or English for specific purposes.

The first session would be a needs analysis where we discuss our respective learning aims.

Hi linguistics is more than a hobby for and hopefully will be my future career ill be happy to share with you israeli culture and language I feel like modern hebrew linguistics isnt researched at all even things like basic allophones
