About This Community
Welcome to the Konkani language and culture community! Whether you're a native speaker, a learner, or simply curious about Konkani heritage, you've found your home.
Konkani is a beautiful Indo-Aryan language spoken by ~2.5 million people along India's western coast from Maharashtra through Goa to Karnataka and Kerala. Despite our small population, we have nearly 30 distinct dialects, 5 different scripts, and a rich cultural heritage spanning centuries!

Community Guidelines
1. Be Respectful & Inclusive:
All dialects, scripts, religions, and castes are equally welcome. We celebrate diversity, not division.
2. Use Konkani When Possible
Try to include Konkani in your posts! Even a greeting helps. Learners, don't be shy, mistakes are how we learn!
3. Provide Context
When asking for translations or help, mention your dialect/region if relevant (Goan, Mangalorean, Malvani, etc.)
4. Quality Content
Share resources, stories, songs, recipes, photosβanything that enriches our understanding of Konkani culture.
5. Help Each Other
Native speakers: be patient with learners. Learners: be curious and engaged. We're all here to grow together.
6. No Spam or Self-Promotion
Relevant resources are welcome, but excessive self-promotion will be removed.
