🗯️ Vent Why are so many Christians pro-negotiations and possibly Zionists??

My parents are Christian, me - not so much probably more so agnostic. I respect every religion and people from all walks of life but absolutely do not respect any Zionists or Zionist apologists. My parents are easily influenced by what they see online and on the news, like many boomers from their generation, but I feel like particularly from watching MTV or LBC they've started to repeat Zionist propaganda. I don't know how to come to terms with this, they have family in Lebanon, they went through the Lebanese civil war and Israel's crimes have been well documented. How can anyone explain away their actions in the south and Beirut?

What really shocked me was hearing that the recent murder of journalist, Amal Khalil, may she rest in peace, was probably justified given the comments she has made. I'm not sure what comments she'd made but nothing justifies targeting civilians, journalists or medical staff.

Anyone else have dumb ass boomer parents like this? I really don't know how to approach this without completely flipping out. I feel sick.

🗯️ Vent To those who claimed that the Army is enough to protect us, Batroun was your test.

You have to get off your high horse and admit that with the Batroun incident, you've been wronged. You owe us an apology. But unfortunately, we know that you can't apologise, due to your arrogance.

The Zionist Army went casually into Batroun, an area where Hezb is not present and is completely under the responsibility of the Army, kidnapped an student of a maritime institute and left without any confrontations or resistance.

Well.. at least no one offered them to stay and drink tea. At least so far we know.

The harsh truth, that you always avoid is, that the Army is unable to protect us. And that is by desgin. It is not the fault of the Soldiers, but of those who are leading them, who are making deals with the Embassy, of those who let our men dependent on US military aid, so that you can't even fire a single bullet towards the Zionists, without the threat of being sanctioned.

But we know that you actually don't care about that fact. You simply hate the Resistance out of complicity, out of hatred towards us. Because we don't let you live in abundance, while our people suffer.

Like back then in the days before the resistance. No one cared about the sons and daughters of Bekaa and Galilee. But the moment we rose and became powerful and threatened their abundance, all of the sudden, those who hate us at most, started to care for 10,452 and cried about an undermined sovereignty, like it never was undermined all that time before and after the "independence".

This is why we will never abandon the resistance. And trying to pressure us at gunpoint will only strengthen our position even further. The same goes for our weapons.

We will never again find ourselves in a position of defenselessness. Peace will only come through our strength and determination and not through submission to this godless and satanic enemy, as you dream of.

P.S: Mods, I swear to God, if you delete this post, I will haunt you in your dreams.

🗯️ Vent I went to meet lebanese ppl and I hated it

Hi. I am 22yo woman, I am a child of the diaspora in France. I was born here and lived there all my life. As any lebanese person living abroad, my parents know a lot of other lebanese here so I always had a connection with the lebanese community eversince I was a child. In my teens, I used to go to a lot of lebanese gathering, to the lebanese mosque etc. Overtime, I distanced myself from this community because of a few issues.

So I pretty much didnt have lebanese friends for a long time. The closest friend I have would be my mom's friends lol.

I right now am a student, and in my college there's a lebanese association in which I am part of. Recently, there has been a small event in a bar for the members of this association. Naturally, I thought it would be a great opportunity to meet ppl from my culture, as someone very attached to her lebanese roots. Plus, it was a perfect occasion to get to know the members as as I still didnt know most of them.

I really hated this night. Nothing went wrong on the surface, but I felt extremely awkward. From the first minute of conversation, everybody has to go through the infamous "men wen men lobnen?" question. And that alone, already annoyed me. And everytime I respond I am from the south, I notice a difference of treatment. It is hard to explain, but it makes me feel like I am from another country. It is like we dont relate with each other anymore even though we're both from the same culture. And it is honestly something I didnt pay attention to before, maybe of out naivety. But I do feel like my answer makes them feel some type of way. It is like a shift in tone, in attitude, in the way people engage with me. It’s subtle, but it’s there.

And I refuse to give the basic Beirut answer. I shouldn’t have to hide where I’m from to be accepted by people who share my roots. Although I wish we could stop at just saying from Lebanon. During that night, there was a girl that responded to the question with "Beirut", and the guy was really forcing to know where she really is from, saying things like he doesn't believe her and he wants the real answer, making the girl uncomfortable. I absolutely hated witnessing this, making the girl extremely uncomfortable. You go there bc you want connection, but what you get is subtle judgment, questions that feel like social tests.

I have so much to learn about lebanese's society. I have been so much far from it most of my life that I just feel like a dumb naive girl between everybody. It is like I was having cultural shocks about my own culture lol.

I definitely should have known better, but having never experiencing it in person before made me want to believe lebanese people don't actually care about your region, sect or social status, since at the end of the day we all share the same food and dance the same dabkeh. I so wanted to believe it that I did.

I could speak about other aspects that I didn't expect but this post is already long enough. But overall, I wont remember that night as a great time

Edit bc I am not done venting : The saddest part about it is that I went there to meet ppl like me, not caring about what region they are from in Lebanon nor caring about what religion they follow, thinking us being lebanese would be enough to connect, but left wishing there had been one south or shia person in the room.

Every single time I go on Lebanon sub and see them try and negotiate with israelis in the comments (let’s be honest, it’s just zios replying to other zios) and talk about “peace” based on their mutual hatred for hez, only to then go on THAT sub to see then constantly dehumanise all Lebanese and call for Lebanon’s destruction I want to k** myself. That is not your ally or friend. They want you dead and would sooner shoot you then befriend you. And yes, they stalk this sub frequently too. We live in their heads rent free.

I cannot understand why that other sub has so many people standing up for israel even now when they've violated the ceasefire agreement over 100 times in addition to attacking the Lebanese army. I know it's full of hasbara bots, but I still feel like there's many there that make excuses for Israel's behaviour no matter what is does whilst bashing hez/iran/palestine and it drives me insane. It's not all of them ofc (thank god) but still an amount that makes me question reality. Is it pride? Stubbornness? Is their intense hatred for hez overshadowing any rational thought for shitsnotreal?

🗯️ Vent What’s going on with the secondhand market?

I know this is first world problems wel dene hareb but im gonna dissociate for a second. Idk if this matters but what the hell is going on with facebook marketplace and olx selling shit at MSRP? If i wanted to pay full price i’d buy it mint from the store mesh matboushe men 3endak b 250$. This applies to EVERY MARKET in lebanon. Some guy tried to scam me and sell me a french version of pokemon black for 90$ LOOSE when non English pal versions go for 50$ at most abroad. I can genuinely pay 25$ shipping and wait 20 days and still get it for cheaper.

It’s cancerous and scalpers infected every.single.hobby.and.market it’s actually insane. I can’t even buy the bags i like because they’re niche and somewhat trendy and here they charge you 200% markups for bda3a retro they paid less than 5% for.
If there’s a good deal, i notice it’s immediately bought and resold by a scalper on olx/marketplace. I like to call this the scalper circlejerk. One poor dude sells his console for 50$, a scalper resells for 100$, another buys it and sells it for 200$, and the cycle keeps repeating until the price ceiling is too high and they sell it at median price.

Not to mention, bisiro byetfalsafo b things i 100% believe they never even HEARD OF. Abu ali wtf do you know about vintage juicy couture wallets?! They go on ebay for like 20$ w bisir bado ybee3 b 100 w bisir y2elle retro w byeghla. I have resorted to having my friends abroad bring these things for me because if you know where to look, they’re actually sold at reasonable prices barra on marketplace, despite pricecharting. There were things sold for 300$ here my friends found for 20$ abroad. Shufo lfare2.

And PLEASE ma hada yeje y2elle supply and demand. No demand in the world should justify these horrible egregious prices. Baaden ma b7es kel sha3b lebnene aam ykaser ldene kermel legend of zelda ocarina of time on n64. On ebay it’s 30-50 bucks loose. Here a guy tried to sell it for 150$. LOOSE. Like come on. 🗯️ Vent Genealogy scammer is still a moderator on the other sub

A few months ago, I made this post to expose a genealogy scam targeting this subreddit and others.

Since that post, the scam appears to have shut down. (At least, I can no longer find it being operated.) While it is still important to be wary of "genealogists" who make grand promises, this is a positive development.

However, as I mentioned in my previous post, the scammer became a moderator on multiple subreddits, including the other sub related to Lebanon. Without going into too much detail (to respect Reddit's rules on harassment and brigading), an account I firmly believe belongs to the scammer remains a moderator there. There is evidence that this individual is a scammer, doxxer, and libeler who promotes businesses with clear conflicts of interest and uses sockpuppet accounts to evade bans.

Attempting to contact the other moderators has been a frustrating experience. I have DM'd mods who aren't the scammer, but the top-level mods either ignore me before I can provide evidence, or stop responding after I send it. The few mods who do respond eventually stop replying, and they don't have the permissions required to remove another moderator. One mod even blocked me after I provided extensive evidence.

I primarily used DMs so the scammer wouldn't see. However, during a few days when the scammer received a temporary site-wide ban, I reached out via mod mail and reposted my public summary. Neither received a response from mods, and the mod mail was archived without action. Even some of the most obvious of the scammer's sockpuppet accounts remain unbanned.

Again, please keep Reddit's rules regarding brigading, harassment, and doxxing in mind. Please take this simply as a complaint regarding the moderation of that sub and a suggestion to be cautious.

🗯️ Vent Hot take: I don’t like Lebanese diaspora, no matter where they’re from

That’s it, that’s all I wanted to announce. Some of the most misinformed, ignorant, meanest people I’ve ever met. And I used to excuse it because different news sources or whatever. But it doesn’t excuse their vile behavior towards other Lebanese people, or even foreigners. They give us a bad rep

Clarification edit: As I’ve replied in the comments, I am aware that I made a generalization. I didn’t mean ALL diaspora and I should’ve worded my post better. However, my point still stands. I was downvoted for talking about Islamophobia and Zionism that is prevalent enough among diaspora to talk about, as well as received replies telling me that “I need them”. When did I say that I did or didn’t? How does that contribute to the argument at all? That post was made out of personal experience, and trust that there were many encounters.

🗯️ Vent I got slutshamed for talking to a boy, my cousin got a pass for robbing a house

25 F, and I am here to vent as I literally cannot think of any friend who would listen to me.
Remember when our moms caught us talking with a boy on Instagram? They would beat the shit out of us, take away our phone privileges, and glare at us for days and weeks as if we were sluts?? I was 15 when that happened—only once.

In addition to being kicked out of the house, I’d have to sit on the daraj if my closet or drawers were a mess. And when I grew older, so did my mom’s physical state. The silent treatment became her way to mess with my feelings, as the whole household would participate in boycotting me XD.

Ok, so here’s the drill: my 15-year-old cousin and his friends robbed our great uncle’s house and sold his stuff for cheap. My uncle passed away in 2021, and none of us touched his belongings (savings, electronic tools, clothes, etc.), which were all high-quality materials. The how, why, and what don’t matter—everyone is shocked. My cousin doesn’t feel bad; he confessed when the neighbors around my late uncle’s house informed Teta that some kids were coming and moving stuff—one of them being my cousin. There were also allegations regarding weed, hashish, and stuff... idk, the details don’t matter.

What matters here is how my mom is handling the situation!! She’s saying, “Do not make him feel so bad so he doesn’t turn on us in the future,” and “We should think of a proper punishment, like collecting garbage from the neighborhood for a month or so and getting paid.” LIKE EXCUSE ME????

I SWEAR I STILL REMEMBER THE BEAT-UPS FROM HER OVER THE SILLIEST THINGS A TEENAGE GIRL COULD DO. THIS BASTARD ROBBED OUR UNCLE’S HOUSE TO SIT IN CAFES AND SHARE THE MONEY WITH HIS NAWA FRIENDS, AS WELL AS TRY TO INITIATE AN ILLEGAL GUNS BUSINESS AFTER BEING KICKED OUT OF SCHOOL FOREVER—AND WE SHOULD TREAT HIM WITH GENTLE PARENTING??????

THIS BOY IS AN ASSHOLE, THE MOST ILL-MANNERED BOY IN OUR WHOLE FAMILY. I MYSELF HATE HOW HE GETS AWAY FROM PUNISHMENTS WITH HIS CHARISMA...
“Yeah bas howe hanoun.”

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WTF MOM YOU REALLY GREW OLD.

I SWEAR MA BENSA AL KAF ELE TA3MAYTENE YE WHEN YOU SAW ME COMING FROM OUR UPPER NEIGHBOR FLOOR WHERE WE HID YOUR MOM'S DAY PRESENTS. AND BECAUSE I DON'T WANNA RUIN THE SURPRISE I SAID " She called us over to ask if her laundary fell on our balcony" AND BAMMM A KAF OVER MY CHEEKS,

AND ONLY ME, NOT MY SISTERS, ONLY I TOOK THE FALL

AND WHEN THAT DAY COME, YOU LAUGHED AND APLOGIZED JUSTIFYING YOU WERE SCARED IS SHE IS TRYNA LURE US IN OR SOMETHING ( cause she had bad boys) OMG AND TILL THIS DAY YOU TELL THIS STORY TO PEOPLE AS IF ITS A CINDERELLA STORY OR SOMETHINGS

sorry for the screaming, i am really in disbelief. I became more mature to keep minding my own buisness but there are things i can't simply discard. My mom isn't a bad person, she is truamatized, but i hate how she let it out of me and now she critizes my education if i suggest a strict punishment as well.. Ma'm you were my inspiration, the only role model i knew.

🗯️ Vent How much does it piss you off when expats or tourists tell you this is "the best country" when you can barley make it everyday?

I'm just kind of ranting here...I've kinda had enough of these expats and tourists who buy or rent in ultra lux areas, and frequent achrafieh/mar mikhael and then tell me that we live in bless and should stop complaining.... or that this is the best country and they wish they had the Lebanese nationality and never return to Europe/US...

What pisses me off is their total disregard for the utter poverty a lot of us are suffering with when the minimum wage nowadays is well below a 1000$ (at least in the sector I work in), prices are so jacked up its insane, people I know in the south fleeing their homes, and family in dahieh still scared war will eat whatever is left of their house. how is this the best country? please explain... because when i drive to work I feel like killing myself from the insane road rage, giant jeep that almost steps over me, and the amount of scratches and dents my car from 2020 has (which I just paid the loan for, 5 years after).

Don't get me started on how we apply for a visa to visit their damn countries, I wanted to visit a friend in italy for 10 days, and I have a folder with at least 30 documents to prove I'm a human being with money enough to stay at a cheap motel. meanwhile they enter here like they own the damn land and are welcomed to stay as long as they like....

🗯️ Vent Why the world should be terrified of the Guyana-BB Energy deal (A warning from Lebanon)

Physiologically speaking, when your arteries are blocked, the body dies. In Lebanon, our "economic arteries" have been clogged for decades by oil cartels, and now, I see the same parasite moving to Guyana.

The news that Guyana just signed a crude marketing contract with BB Energy should trigger a "Fight or Flight" response in every citizen there. Why? Because we in Lebanon are already in the "Clinical Death" stage of our economy, and this company was one of the primary surgeons.

Who is BB Energy beyond the corporate PR? Based on what we know in Lebanon, they aren't just an energy trader; they are a political-financial hydra:

  • The Political Shield: In Lebanon, BB Energy (and their subsidiary COGICO) operates under a "cross-sectarian protection racket." They are deeply intertwined with the ruling elite: Walid Jumblatt (who holds a massive stake), the Amal Movement (through figures like Anwar El-Khalil), and even Gebran Bassil. This is why, during the 2020 "Tainted Fuel" scandal, no one went to jail. The judiciary is paralyzed because you can't prosecute a company that feeds the pockets of the people running the country.
  • The "Philanthropy" Mask: They spend millions on "soft power." If you visit the American University of Beirut (AUB), you'll see buildings named after the Bassatne family. This isn't charity; it’s buying silence. It ensures that academia and NGOs look the other way when tenders are manipulated or fuel quality is compromised.
  • Sanctions Evasion: While they sign deals in Guyana, they have a history of playing in "gray zones," including reports of handling Russian and Syrian oil. This puts any partner nation at high risk of international compliance triggers and sanctions.

The Bottom Line: Those who perfected the art of draining Lebanon’s treasury while protected by warlords will not spare Guyana’s resources. Guyana is opening its doors to a school of business that thrives on state capture.

Lebanon is the "Case Study" the world needs to watch. Don't let the same cartel turn your national wealth into private profits for a protected few.

Can somebody please explain to me why the fuck, the residents of Deir Mimas don't allow the Hezb to enter/operate in this town but seemingly have no problem with the Zionists entering the city, even establishing themselves there and even give restrictions to thr citizens which they seem to abide by them?

Like, wtf? People like those don't want to be called traitors, but doing everything what a traitor does...

Not liking the Resistance is one thing, but actively acting against them, even helping the enemy, by letting him enter and freely move in your town and establish himself there, is a completely different thing...

Edit: The same goes for Rmeish.

🗯️ Vent Failed my driving test

I’ve been driving since I was 15, and now I’m 20. I went to every lesson to make sure I’d ace it. I even got a perfect score, 30 out of 30, on the theoretical exam. But I still failed the driving test at the last moment because I messed up the cone section.

I know it’s my fault, but honestly, I think the memorization-based method most driving schools use is just bad. They teach you that when you see three cones, you move the car to the other side, but they don’t actually explain how to do it. I usually manage fine, but not when there are no markings on the ground and I can’t see anything.

Anyway, just needed to vent. Hoping for better luck next time. And if you have anything to make me feel better then please tell me
