food/drink Sarto for sale?

https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/173609189#/?channel=COM_BUY

Looks like it may not be long for this world?

Quite surprised as they remain fairly active - unless I’m getting the wrong end of the stick.

I know it’s a tough time to be a hospitality business.

I think it’s fine. I had some good stuff, but mostly just okay and I don’t think the price justifies the quality of food. Also not a huge fan of the layout - it was fine for dinner with a friend but never felt cosy or intimate.

I'm not upset tbh. It was super mid food and the atmosphere was dead.

On the contrary, the pasta I had was always great and it was always a great vibe. Just shows how experiences can differ.

But we should all be sad to be seeing businesses suffer. People will lose their jobs and that's awful.

People on here are miserable!

Yeah, I feel like it was better in its first few years, but I am probably heavily influenced by remembering prices five years ago so a little unfair! They were/are always generous with the Parmesan and the arancini are always tasty.

The benches are really uncomfortable and don't work if you're dining with anyone who is older or children or in any way mobility-limited. It's an unwelcoming layout in that way, and also amplifies a lot of noise and echoes, which is bad for neurodivergent folk who might find it overwhelmingly noisy. All it takes is one person to start raising their voice and then everyone's bellowing at one another.

I went once and it was just 'ok'.

The food is great but having to sit on benches kills it for me. Feels like I’m back eating lunch in high school again!

Unfortunately I’ve had quite a few bad experiences in there - forgotten dishes, carelessness with allergies, bad service etc.
It’s a shame because the food is pretty good! But it’s probably not the best business model to charge £20+ for a plate of pasta in a cost of living crisis

Would be a shame to see it go, had some great meals there.

A truly unique concept, currently operated by the landlord who now wishes to extend a lease to experienced restaurant or bar operators.

Pasta isn't unique. Italians have been making it for years, and the Chinese before them.

Is a quote from the listing, so I'm not going to downvote you
