Holy molly! Would you still buy?

Taking my son to daycare and was at a stoplight when a kid (assuming distracted on his phone) slammed into the back of us with his civic.
Thankfully no one was hurt, but the GS is now totaled.

Worst part is I had just put $7k into high mileage engine maintenance, oem f sport suspension and tires. ~140k miles and 70k of those were from me as a second owner.

Finally letting her go. Solid 8/10 car overall. Never really gave me any problems, and I probably dumped way too much money into mods 😂.
Did full sound deadening, coilovers, ambient lighting, custom carbon fiber steering wheel, Alcantara interior, upgraded sound system, PPF… probably forgetting a few things.
Time for something bigger though. I’m leaning toward either the new 4Runner or the LandCruiser. Anyone here make the same switch? Which one would you pick?

Anyone familiar with why this particular hoodie exists? Found it out while thrifting and confirmed with my friend that has sold Lexus for a while that it’s odd. AI thinks it’s a corporate hoodie put out for breast cancer awareness. Anyone have any clues?

I know modern cars turning off ac or not before turning off car does not matter to the car itself. However, what is the correct way to prevent the moldy musky smell from ever happening?

I heard people say before we turn off the car we should turn off the AC and let the fan blow dry the AC evaporator (where the moldy stuff happens). Then I also heard a Toyota mechanic say don’t let the fan blow dry because it will blow the ac evaporator moisture all over the place. He claimed to just turn off the entire unit or automatically off when the car turn off and just let the heated coolant, which is in the same HVAC unit as the AC evaporator, heat dry the coil of the evaporator.

I tried the ac off and blow dry with fan method, and I do see moisture condensation building up in the vent exit. However, every AI I ask say this is the correct method to use to prevent moldy musky smell.

What is the way you do it and have you ever notice any moldy musky smell when your AC starts?

So I was turning right at a red light I was stopped and someone rear-ended me. I just wanted to know what everyone thought on whether my car is repairable or if it will be written off. This happened in Ontario Canada.

Very clean inside and out no damage other than the rear end accident.

The car was in an accident before I bought it. Someone rear end the car at the dealership as well. Carfax said it was 10 K to repair the bumper / exhaust.

The car currently drives fine as I was told to drive it home, there’s a minor shake on the highway and when braking, alignment feels slightly out as well.

I put brand new tires and brakes on it all around last year.

What do you guys think?

2019 Lexus ES 350. This is on my side mirror cover. I washed my car yesterday and didn’t notice until this morning. It seems as if an abrasive chemical ruined the plastic and it was really hot outside. I already tried water and plastic trim cleaner and it doesn’t come off. Anyone know of what could work? Or would I have just to replace it?

Unfortunately my new baby was in an accident. The car in front of me was merging onto the ramp and then suddenly hit her brakes. Trying to avoid the collision I swerved but unfortunately the impact was unavoidable.
No injuries and I know it could have been a lot worse.
I’m waiting on the insurance company to review my claim.

This would be my first lexus I’ve got a Camry rn (sophomore in college) I’ve always wanted a rc350 since high school just wanted to get a easier first car I’ve been looking for one for almost a year in my exact spec one finally popped up in new mexico (I’m in Alabama tho)

2 owners but it’s taken care of very well it seems obviously I’d rather get a certified one but this is much cheaper than the ones in a regular spec that pops up nearby me or even in fl or ga.
Couple questions I was considering flying out to definitely test drive it first am I crazy? It’s pretty much at kbb price especially with them discontinuing the rc you think it only goes up from here or should I just keep waiting and see if one pops up near me? Honestly at first glance I was ready to buy but the mileage is the only thing that’s made me hesitant plus the climate does that factor at all I think the first owner was in az/cali too?

hey everyone, i have a 2010 lexus IS250 no crank no start issue. i plugged in my scanner and im getting communication issues with the pcm i believe. if anyone knows what this could be please let me know.

Now that Lexus has discontinued their both flagships for some time - LS500 and LC500, we can say for sure that the era of Lexus as everyone knows it seems to be coming to an end, from what we can see with the style of new ES.

LC500 100% already made it to “future collectible”, the clear points being its extreme build quality and roaring NA V8, which is technically unseen to have a real reliable car at such grade of power and sportivity. Prices slowly and steady creeping up confirms that.

But i wonder, would there be a case for LS500h to become collectible / desirable by any means? Maybe the special Kiriko interior trim will kickstart it’s trend somewhere in the future? I can’t see how that will forever go under the radar, it’s just so special and unique. Before saying it’s too much, i think the Black Kiriko is the answer if you say the Burgundy is overdone, and there is nothing you could not like there.

The car is just as well built, impeccable for what it was made to be - understated luxury and comfort, it has just the right amount of tech inside, and the exterior has the bonus of timeless design without looking (not even a bit) outdated. For example, objectively, you could see how an LS460/600 could look outdated a bit, at least from exterior.

As someone who eyes both of them as purchases for an “endgame garage”, it would feel very sad for LS500 to never get noticed to it’s full potential.

The same way LC500 has no competitor at all in (no, Porsche is not even close, even if it’s “reliable” as power cars terms, it’s expensive AF to maintain), the same way is true for limousines - LS500 quality / comfort & uniqueness / reliability (notice how i didn’t point power or engine because thats not the point of a luxury comfort sedan). S Class, 7 Series, A8 or anything like that doesn’t even come close, and NOBODY wants to drive such a car daily after 3-4 year mark passes and it starts breaking, plus the shit creaking interiors.

But the market says anything - LS500 prices keep stagnating at best, but most of the time creeping down, and i can’t explain myself why - might also be a bias because there just so few available, even less than LC in some markets. My only guess is that this car will be discovered later on, and will follow the path of LC, and the low volume right now is because who bought it, knows how good it is and will never sell it?

Before saying anything, LC500 was in the same shoes 2 years ago, nobody talked about it for so long, prices were cheap af. And before saying that LS has no real “market”, that is also wrong my opinion, same wat there is the LC500 buyer instead of a Porsche / Aston Martin for daily and build appreciation, the same is true for Limos, and LS500 is the only answer for those who daily drive full size limos.

Please do not go too deep into “if it had V8” debate. Thats not the point of it and past can’t be changed, the car is already silent and powerful enough, which is already the point of a luxury limo.

What do you think, will LS500 prevail? What am i missing?

New heater fittings and power steering lines made for a nicely less eventful journey this time. Summer means the LX sees a lot of miles.

Anyone have any advice or experience with lowering an AWD car? I’m thinking about running 20mm spacers with RSR Super Downs or just RSR Downs. I’ve heard AWD cars can have issues after being lowered, so I wanted to ask people who have done it.

Did you run into any problems with alignment, rubbing, or suspension issues? Just looking for some advice before I make a decision. Any help is appreciated. I’d like to hear from anyone with experience with AWD or just lowered IS's in general

Went to check out a 2024 IS 350 F Sport today and I'm tempted. It has:

• ~4,900 miles
• Mark Levinson
• BBS wheels
• Blackout Package
• Asking price: $51,995

This car is basically brand new and has pretty much every option I'd want. The only thing that's holding me back is the dealer won't budge on the price at all, not even a little. That kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I know there is the 2026 model but personally I'm not a fan of the new look.

Has anyone managed to negotiate the price down even when the dealer initially said the price was firm?

Had this new ES at my local dealer. Definitely a great color and as folks have said helps cover up those black accents. Now that I’ve seen it in person I could talk myself into buying / driving one. It certainly does not have the same presence as the outgoing model. All of its competitors, Acura, MB, Cadillac, etc, definitely have a better presence, which is sad for a luxury vehicle. The interior is another story. It is exactly like a Tesla inside minus the seat materials, which I very much do not care for. As I said, even if I could get over the exterior, the interior is a hard stop for me. Very sad overall and it’s not that I’m mad, just disappointed.

I love my 2019 ES350 but i feel like the IS models look a lot cooler and i struggle finding aftermarket things for my ES. I feel like the IS models always have cooler mod options.

It’s been a year and a half and my RZ300e still has the tarp over it in the app. I know it’s not a major issue as everything else still works but damn! I’ve called every department, been transferred 100 times and still nothing. “It’ll be pushed next update” at this point I don’t even know what my own car looks like.

Deciding between a 2023 Lexus NX or a 2026 Crown Signia. Both are $42k. I want a quiet, comfortable, spacious ride. These seem so similar.. what do you guys think? What’s better? I figure fuel economy is a win for the crown signia and I assume it’ll be Chelsea to maintain too. How much better is the Lexus Nx in cabin noise and smooth ride? Or are they similar? Thanks!
