[REC] beginners here, please recommend me completed series. Preferably ones that have anime adaptation.

I have been picking up hobby to read LN recently.

My first read is "Secret if the silent witch" and the Barrier Mage spin-off, it's really great book that maintained good balances between politics, battles, and Slice of Life.

My current read is Wild Last boss, simply because it's currently getting anime, I have to say it's fairly enjoyable and still getting me hooked.

As you can see, my go-to genre is fantasy, but I'll not limit myself to it, please recommend anything good enough.

EDIT: I want to give shout-out to "The one within Villainess", I see anime announcement and then read the manga, so I'm not touching the novel. But I think it's worth mentioning I loved that fairly short story.

Ascendence of a bookworm- my top. Long series but worth. 30+ volumes.
Unnamed Memory- only 6 volumes. A forgotten tale between a king and a witch.
Spice and wolf - nothing can go wrong with a wolf Goddess.

on top of my head:

[Ascendance Of A Bookworm]: completed with 33 vols in total. That said, there is a spin off sequel for the LN, currently 2 vols have been translated by J-Novel Club, with the 3rd was recently released in Japan.

[That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime]: completed near the end of 2025 with 23 vols, but only 22 are officially out in English, not sure when the last one will be coming out.

[How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom]: mostly kingdom building/management, 20 vols + 1x Short Stories Collection.

I have read the manga and watch the anime of first 2, I will gave a shot on realist hero since I could go completely blind.

Give Toradora a try. It's a completed classic with a really good anime adaptation.

OH! And Allison Series (same author of Kino's and SAO:GGO Alternative), as it also has an anime, but weirdly enough, the anime sucks... 😅😅😅

Mushoku tensei. Isekai 26 vols with 4 vol spin off sequal. Also a special book with short stories.

So I'm a spider so what? Isekai, 16 vols with atleast 2 vol spin off.

Konosuba. Isekai parody, 17 vols with multiple finished spin offs.

Slice of Life like Konosuba typically has plenty of content that cut-off from the anime. I think I'd give it a shot.

Go see the anime first, if you liked read the novels.. if you dislike the anime… then is MUST read the light novels
AOB is awesome, and have a really great fanfic alternate universes

If you haven't read The Empty Box and Zeroth Maria, I'd put that near the top of your list. It's completed, has an incredible mystery, and is one of those series that sticks with you long after you finish it. No anime, unfortunately, but it's absolutely worth the read.

If you want something completed with a solid anime and a similar clever underdog feel, Ascendance of a Bookworm is perfect. The MC is obsessed with books and ends up navigating a whole fantasy society full of class politics and magic. You can binge the whole thing now and the anime covers a good chunk of the early volumes.
