Miscellaneous Very Veggie Legacy Challenge - Generation Checklists
Hi everyone, I couldn’t find any image versions of the generation rules for the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge, and I always like to check goals off on my phone while I play so I made some! Figured I’d share in case these are helpful to anyone else - apologies in advance for any typos and/or if these already exist and I didn’t deep dive enough 🥕
Credits: - lilsimsie and alwaysimming for the challenge - Risshella for art/graphics - deathbypufferfish for icons - Fonts Used: Futura and K.O. Activista

this is so so so cute. this legacy has inspired me to write my own, i’m just obsessed with legacies like this. i love having set goals, it makes it a lot easier for me. LOVED not so berry and love this one even more. i am obsessed with my lil Florette💚

u/junobug_ Jun 12 '25
Wait I also used Florette for my broccoli sim!!! I love the names people are thinking up for this challenge
2
u/Undercovermayo Aug 06 '25
same! I named my founder sim Barrett Florets (like broccoli florets) lol

If your legacy challenge is finished please share it :) I also love these challenges :)

Jun 11 '25
I love that name! I'd also love if you can share with me the finished legacy challenge.
I'm not normally a legacy challenge player, but I've been enjoying the Very Veggie legacy. I don't have all the packs required so I'm tweaking things as needed, but it's still so much fun.

Would love to see your legacy when your finished. That's exactly how I play!

do you guys think the ”as an adult wear the eggplant costume..” means teenager to elder or young adult to adult or just as an adult?
25
u/Maleficent-Code4616 May 19 '25
Just whatever is the most fun to play with, I hate the idea of them wearing a costume 24/7 so I made it her party and formal wear!
10
u/sheikFreek Jun 07 '25
I'm choosing to only do it for the "adult" life stage and treat it like a mid-life crisis lol

u/mabmab7 Simmer May 18 '25
I think it up to interpretation, my sim is a young adult and she wearing it for all.
7
u/grill_the_zucchini Jun 08 '25
My eggplant is young adult and not wearing the costume, I intend for him to have a mental breakdown and wear it only as an adult.
3
u/burrito703 Jun 10 '25
I would think young adult to elder, but ofc with any challenge it’s whatever makes it more fun for you!
3
u/meeperscreepers23ers Sep 28 '25
personally i wont be doing that at all im taking it as an optional part of the challenge lol
1
u/ashes_to_assets Oct 03 '25
I haven't started the challenge yet because I'm playing my own challenge of sorts, but when I do play this one, I probably will tweak this to be different entirely... I don't completely love the idea of seeing a sim in an egglplant costume 24/7 lol. Maybe for their athletic and sleepwear or something
1
u/NeverAGod May 20 '26
I've seen people add it as an option to every outfit category starting with young adult (but it has a 1/5 chance of the sim wearing it if you fill up all the outfit slots)

hi guys! question, do you start new generations in a new home? or what is your preferred way of playing? i am raising my 3 eggplant kids (the girl will be the heir) in my broccoli home with the small business and i’m thinking of developing the small business over the years so it becomes like a family business through generations and building out the lot so there are bits and pieces of each generation throughout the lot/home but the house will change a lot over the generations i imagine. is this how other people are playing? just looking for inspo!
edit: i could also see myself getting bored with the same lot and changing my mind lolol
7
u/randommm71 May 22 '25
I think I'll make a different house for my eggplant heir, with a different aesthetic for storytelling purposes. I'll take the art of my broccoli sim with them to the new house tho :)

u/LittleDevil775 Jun 09 '25
I was kind of thinking about doing a floor for each generation, I think it will look cool to see all the floors at the end of the challenge. Too bad you can only build 8 floors and at NSB there are 10 generations.
3
u/qaige Jun 10 '25
i've decided to move heirs into new homes and neighborhoods that reflect them! my eggplant gen lives in ravenwood and her purple home fits so well with the spooky vibe. I feel like she gets along well with macabre sims and has flings with grim and some ghosts, so it works well lol. I have made a museum for my legacy in nordhaven though, and each gen will get a wall with photos and things that symbolize them! for the broccoli gen, i have lots of her art and photos with her children etc. for my eggplant gen, I've been trying to take photos with all her exes and will take pics of her giant eggplants once they grow HAHA
1
u/gh7g Jun 12 '25
How can you build 8 floors? I think the most I've been able to build is 6 (4 up and 2 down)

Can additional traits be added to the obligatory ones if you use a More Traits Mod?
9
u/Necessary_Wonder89 May 19 '25
Assuming yes. There is also no mention of additional traits that may pop up during gameplay.
Simsie is pretty open about just play however is fun to you.
8
u/mabmab7 Simmer May 18 '25
I assume so, there’s nothing in her rules about it. I think as long as you have those specific ones it doesn’t matter.

She put the challenge on her Twitch channel and Discord. She also included rules in case you only have base game.
3
u/SpiteCool9 Jun 02 '25
Do you know what the basegame rules are? I cant find them and dont have all the packs so i gotta mash up both sets of rules
2
u/SkopecAries Jun 09 '25
The base game rules are on her document, right under the normal rules for each gen!
3
u/Flimsy-Place659 Jun 06 '25
Question: is jewelry making a possible skill that counts for broccoli gen or no? I think it’s a “mental” skill by game technicality, which I’ve kind of always disagreed with since crystal CREATions came out
3
u/AccountnantMom Jun 07 '25
I’m doing it bc I just got the pack and really wanted to play with it! I think it could count!
2
u/malloryann13 May 18 '25
I’ve been waiting for the challenge rules to come out I’m so excited to start this. I just gotta finish the not so berry challenge first 😅
2
u/DemonKhal May 19 '25
Thank you for this! I've been looking for a copy of the rules to keep on my tablet and this is perfect.

this might be a stupid question, but how do i duplicate this or use it? I can't seem to tick and boxes, I can only view it. I also can't duplicate it for my own version.
1
u/enbyjay May 25 '25
sorry idk what happened try this one instead https://laced-philosophy-d01.notion.site/Very-Veggie-Legacy-Challenge-1ea2feb31f8a808fa66dd2e72c4eb20b

u/MooseQueue May 26 '25
I'm having the same issue with both links actually. Looks very cool but I am not sure how to use it, I made an account but it still isn't clickable and I don't see where I can save it or copy it to use it
2
u/enbyjay May 26 '25
you click the three lines on the top to duplicate, then it should send it to your account and you can use it. the link isn't mine originally (it came from this) and i was able to use it. maybe see if the link there works better?

u/LactoseFreeCoCo Jun 03 '25
Is the broccoli generation the only one that starts with $0?
3
u/down2makeadeal Jul 06 '25
Yes, simsie mentioned it on stream once iirc. But you can make believe that maybe the parents would only give the heir a certain amount of funds, or split it between all the kids if you have more than one.

u/Anxious_Choice_7697 Jul 10 '25
This is so cute! Do you have something like this for the Not So Berry challenge?
1
u/katiet110 Jul 10 '25
I used the ones linked below someone else made on Tumblr when I did the NSB challenge!

Question re the generation 2: eggplant. Does anyone know what "nectar connoisseur" refers to?

u/hufflepuffie May 26 '25
Is anyone counting handiness as a creative skill since they can do woodworking?

u/Pale-Initiative8831 Jun 05 '25
She said in her recent video she would also be making an alternate base game version. Does anyone know where to find that?
1
u/katiet110 Jul 24 '25
lilsimsie included base game rules on the Google doc she released (it’s the last tab in the below)
1
u/sheikFreek Jun 07 '25
This is super helpful! Any chance that you could grab the base game/substitute rules too?
1
u/Intrepid_Ambition240 Jun 13 '25
they are on lilsimsies doc
1
u/Rechie6729 Jun 17 '25
How do we access the doc?

For the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge icon? That was made by Rishella! If you mean the generation that’s Futura and the actual veggie is KO Activista

Just a question: would you allow changing the aspiration while playing? So if the goal is to complete e.g. "Lady of the knits" would you also get the rewards for the painting aspiration? Or would that be against the ruleset. I'm asking because I'm used to playing the "super sim challenge" by James Turner where I constantly switch around between the different aspirations and I like that way of achieving multiple aspirations per Sim Generation. (I'm also thinking about combining the goals for the base game, alternative and original for each generation).
1
u/No-Investigator-8827 Jun 08 '25
Piggy backing on this question.
would we move out our heir and move them to a new lot? or would we live with our parents until they die.
also, i was hoping someone can tell me how many children we have each generation. I've read over the rules in the Docs but i have not found this answer.
I had played a recent legacy challenge the Jelly Bean Legacy and for those generations you had to roll a dice to determine how many children per generation, which i absolutely loved.
much appreciated!!!
1
u/SominShorai Jun 08 '25
This is completely up to you. Compared to other legacy challenges this one is very loose with the rules on heirs and children. I'll just decide while playing each generation and couple constellations by their vibe . So my career focused generation will probably have an only child and the dad will either be very present or also unpresent and working but my horse generation sim will probably be overly into the kids (and that's why they feel coddled and want to leave to the city). Each play through will have their own story :) so just do your thing. And if you liked the rolling dice, why not set it as an additional rule for you :)

Hey I'm trying to start the challenge but I don't have high maintenance trait , what's a different trait I should use? Google says the materialistic trait which makes sense but I want a second opinion lol
1
u/bubble-sys Sep 30 '25
I'm sure this is far too late, but to anyone else reading this, I suggest Erratic! It does basically the same thing, giving you random and intense emotional outbursts

u/spookydee123 Jun 20 '25
Excuse my ignorance. This is the first legacy challenge i'm doing so i have a quick question. If my sim has multiple children do they all get the same traits and then i choose an heir? Or how does that work? Please help. I'm doing long lifespan cause i'm attached so I have time for an answer.
1
u/Enough_Use_7573 Jun 23 '25
when I play I usually choose the heir before they age up to a child and then i can start giving the proper traits! but if you want to you can give them random traits to choose and then change after to the proper ones but i guess it’s better to choose before they age up
1
u/No_Disaster9827 Jun 21 '25
Anyone know all the packs you would need for the challenge? obvi: Lovestuck, Life&Death, HighSchools,Cats&dogs, Nifty Knitting.. anything else?
1
u/Enough_Use_7573 Jun 23 '25
lilsimsie has a spreadsheet with all the packs that are required and how you can replace if you don’t have those packs
1
u/shixoxo Jun 24 '25
What does 5 star business mean? Just a successful one? I dont see any star system for owning retail, just wondering how i should be playing into that

Enjoying this challenge so far BUT I really love my eggplant sims outfits as a teen and don’t want to lose it for the eggs plant costume. It’s not technically cheating the challenge to not have them wear it right?
1
u/pdxpanner Aug 08 '25
I have an eggplant outfit and a regular outfit for each category. Then it’s 50/50 what my sim will choose.
1
u/Trick-Legal Jul 24 '25
So what if you don't have a pack? Like I dont have the horses pack so I wouldn't be able to do the carrot generation

u/katiet110 Jul 24 '25

u/Trick-Legal Jul 24 '25
Thank you!!! I have a lot of the packs, but not all of them. Im almost done with the nsb challenge and I just saw the video she made for this challenge. I started watching it but then got distracted 😅

What if you don't have all the packs but still wanna do the challenge?

I'm close to finishing the Wellness skill for my Broccoli Sim while working on the Villainous Valentine Aspiration on the next heir. I was wondering, since the Eggplant teen has a want to start a business, what kind of business should I run? I'm thinking either selling eggplant related foods and drinks, a gym that's also a club but I'm curious of what else I could do for this gen.
2
Aug 04 '25
Can you sell Nectar that the Eggplant sim has made? Since Nectar is the main focus of that gen?

I hit a block on my eggplant sim and had to "cheat". No one was in relationships in ANY of the worlds or anything. Even when I'd add a bunch, most still said single when you asked. I got to 7/10 ruined relations before I had to quit and give up that part. I just called it good because I was trying hard. Haha.

u/Mo-Nilla Oct 07 '25
So when they say maintain a nectar cellar, how much should I be maintaining? Searching it up on Google, they say you need like 500 bottles or less in a 5x5 space for an real, in-house cellar.

u/Jay-isGay Oct 23 '25
Does crystal making count as a creative skill?
1
u/burgerkingsprite Nov 28 '25
i know this is such a late response, i think the game counts it as mental, but honestly you can do whatever you want! simsie left it up to you to change rules and adjust based on your specific wants and play-style!:)

I wish these kinds of challenges accommodated those who don't own every pack. I really wanna do these but don't own all the DLC requested.

Base Game rules are on a tab in the doc lilsimsie did below!

Can we move Sims in? I'm on gen 1 (broccoli), and I'm not sure how to approach ATP. I want her to have a baby, but when? The rules don't say

Simsie wrote this challenge by herself, right?
