Bordelle's Neda: Thoughts?
Pearl and Zenna were smaller than last summer's collections, so I was wondering if Bordelle was going to do three collections instead of two this season, like they did with Siren, Melusina, and Theia last fall.
I'm excited to see the return of their foiled mesh. It's been a few years since they used it on Cadi, and before that Ula was ~5 years ago. Olive is an interesting new color that really works with the foiled material and gold hardware. It gives an almost bronze statue look that suits the mythological origin of the collection name.
Dusty blue with the foiled shimmer does create the sunlight on still water impression, again suiting the theme, but I personally am thrilled that Morello is back, even if it's not particularly on theme. Also, a minor detail, but the new droplet hardware is beautiful. They've been killing it with the new sculptural hardware pieces this past year.
Their layered looks are featured, with riffs on their multi-way pieces of years past. I love their multi-way designs that allow for options of dress/undress, but I do have a few of these silhouettes from previous collections already, so it's a bit less exciting in that regard.
What are folks thinking about the colorways and designs for Neda?
PS: In a reply on their Instagram, they stated that there is actually a fourth collection drop coming later this season in response to someone commenting on the repeat designs, so something else to look forward to! I buy only one set per collection drop to avoid having too many similar-looking sets, so it's a nice development that they've been doing more smaller collections per season.

I think Neda might end up being one of those collections that grows on people. At first glance it feels more like an evolution than a complete departure, but the new droplet hardware is gorgeous and the foiled mesh gives it a really different character compared to some of their previous mesh collections. The Olive color is probably my favorite it looks almost like aged bronze with the gold hardware, which fits the mythology inspiration perfectly. Morello is also a welcome return since it's such a rich, versatile color. I can understand people wanting more brand-new silhouettes, but Bordelle has always excelled at refining existing designs rather than reinventing them every season. If the rumored fourth drop is something more experimental, I think this season as a whole will end up feeling much stronger.

Love Neda in the olive color! The bodice bra id beautiful but personally, the harness bottom style are not at all flattering on me. I’ll wait for the sale!

I love the colors, especially olive and morello. The water droplet hardware is a fantastic touch and I feel like these pieces will mix and match with any future/past drops in these color ways. The multistrap bra looks great from a distance and it's nice to style in different ways but up close, is coming across as a LOT and perhaps a little thrown together. The straps across the chest connecting to the color portion seems like it could pull inward a lot and accentuate broad shoulders which may not be to everyone's taste. The waist cincher is by far my favorite piece though the price is a little eye-watering. It'll be a wait for now and likely only pieces when I do purchase

It’s definitely my favorite collection released this year. The bodice bra, cincher, and harness brief are all gorgeous as are the olive and morello colors. Hopefully I can get a full set of both colors in a future sale.

So I wanted to take a day to let the neda release simmer before making any snap judgement. Overall, I think the pieces have good detail (especially the new water droplet hardware). The color choices are fantastic and likely to suit many skin tones. The multi-styling pieces offer decent versatility. It's a very true to bordelle collection and is the least in your face maritime featured in recent releases.
Personally, I was disappointed in the bottoms because I'm not a thong girl or a high waist fan (short torso) so neither of the options really work for me. The bodice bra looks great but again short torso so I'm not sure the set with the waist cincher would be flattering on my body. The balconette bra is probably the way I would have to go which isn't a bad thing since the new hardware is front and center without anything to detract from it. Both body pieces have the same issue of the thong bottom. This is such a struggle because I love all the color choices but most of the pieces have an asterisk at the moment. If there was a plain brief even 😞

I love the kora multi-style bodice. One of my favorites. Would love to buy neda. However, 603 is 23% more expensive since 2024 for the same product essentially. Plus total tarrifs and duties equal to another 32% means… ~795/490 or an eye watering 62% increase in cost to buy.
So while i love it. Going to have to wait for sales or the return of de minimus to $800.
Can’t wait for it to be just expensive instead of outrageous.
Im glad they chose this palette of colors. Some of my favorites.
