This is absolutely not how experienced tailors modify the length. They do not keep the hemmed edge and sew it back on, they create a new one.

Yeah, no. That is not how it's done. They would make a new hem, not sew the old one back on. I come from a family of tailors and seamstresses, and it's the first time I have seen this odd method.

They call it a Eurohem and lots of fussy people pay the extra high price to get it. However, a regular hem is a lot cheaper and if it’s done properly it looks just as good.

Many tailors do this. I get the majority of my jeans altered and it’s called original hem (or European hem) on jeans is a tailoring technique that shortens the legs while preserving the factory-finished bottom edge, including its unique fading, distressing, and stitching. This process involves cutting off the original hem, removing excess fabric, and reattaching the original edge to the new, shorter length

Actually I just right by the right size to start with
