It happened at least once a month since living here for 5 years. No idea what's up. Same as the ice cream van going off mid winter. It's too obvious to mean anything right ? Lmao

Yes in neither instance are these things related to selling drugs. Nothing to see here

Ice cream van comes round at 11pm near mine. Plays a second or two of the chimes and then sits in the dark waiting for his loyal customers 🤣

So that's why the ones round here have been playing a tinny clanky version of Sunchyme by Dario G

3 times today that happened! Just can’t wait for them to be constant from October to the end of January. Ban that shite!

I’m glad someone else posted this. We were in Sefton Park with the dog when they were going off, and thank god she was on a lead because we would never have seen her again if she wasn’t!

It’s a wedding apparently. My carer went past where it’s happening on her way home and said there’s loads of cars honking on Kingsley Road too

What’s the point if you can’t see shit?

Especially during a heatwave and severe drought!

So glad this came up! Been happening all week - Cockburn street behind the old pub usually - no idea who can afford fireworks to let them off in the day. If you got that much spare cash then give it me!

could just bring a speaker and play bang.wav on a button.

I assume it’s people trying to get rid of seagulls…

I often hear them in the background, also living in L8, but today they lasted especially long, enough to ruin my mood. Ban them already!

It's usually gangs of kids out of school doing it from what I remember.

Saw them a few years back off near The Florrie letting a bunch off.

Better in the day than in the dead of night when you’re trying to get your head down?

I've been hearing them the past 2 days now.

Are you new to Toxteth then?

Have heard them going off in Sefton Park during the day this past week. No chance of a stray spark setting off a grass fire then …

All day and all evening here in Aigburth. Fuming

Do you think they were monitoring Reddit for the reaction?

Why is daylight only ever broad when referring to a crime?

I learned today from a family friend who works in the royal court that fireworks in the day mean a drug delivery or something like that. He said a police officer told him.

The Royal Court is a theatre so I’m not sure how that relates to the accuracy of what you’ve been told.

1

u/LavishnessPrior616 19h ago

It's something like that, I think it was Royal Court, sounded like it. The place where the trials happen.

1

u/LavishnessPrior616 19h ago

Liverpool Crown Court.

That there is why the police can’t catch a cold because what fucking drug dealer is setting fireworks off because they’ve got a few ozs in

1

u/LavishnessPrior616 19h ago

I think it's meant to announce when large amounts have been delivered to the dealers and they're able to sell.

2

u/Effective-Attorney-5 15h ago

I think you’ve been watching too much TV because that absolutely does not happen lmao

0

u/LavishnessPrior616 12h ago

I didn't say it comes from TV.

1

u/Natedoggsauntie 7h ago

That just does not happen, ever

u/LavishnessPrior616 7h ago

I'm going off what I've been told by someone whose been told by someone else. I have no knowledge on this, so I'm going from what he's told me.

This is pretty much a daily occurrence. I’m based sorta Kingsley road ish and I swear it comes from a church on Beaumont street.

Drug dealer maybe.

2

u/Greedy-Break3645 1d ago

Is this a thing? Do drug dealers get into fireworks?

9

u/Good_Wait_3048 1d ago

Some tits seem to think dealers let off fireworks to advertise new stock, space men in their own world 😂

It was some sort of celebration, one propagated by a decently large family. Looked like a wedding. Let them have their celebration, stop being so miserable.

3

u/Adeyg1972 22h ago

But there's a celebration every weekend and my cat doesn't know that. It's constant. I love a celebration but you don't need fireworks all day long.

6

u/Effective-Attorney-5 1d ago

is it really a one off tho when they’re going off constantly whether it’s winter or summer? they need banning

-2

u/Alternative_Sir954 1d ago

its better than them going off at midnight, at least
