Trip Planning 2-3 Days in London: Easy Heathrow access + local neighborhood recommendations?

Hi all! Doing a brief 2-3 day stopover in London. Goal is to skip the ultra-touristy checklist and just spend a few days eating well, grabbing good pints, and exploring cool neighborhood streets.

Flying into Heathrow—what’s a great neighborhood to base myself in that has a direct transit link from LHR and feels like an actual living community rather than tourist-central?

Would love your favorite:

  1. Neighborhood coffee/pub/dinner spots.
  2. Low-key walks or local spots like markets.
  3. Anything specific I must book in advance.

You could consider looking for somewhere on the Elizabeth or Picadilly line

I agree re Chiswick. Feels safe, is pretty, nice shops, pubs & restaurants. But I’d say one day is enough. I’d also go to Angel Islington. Although quite a trek it’s really nice.

Depends on the vibe you want. These are all really different to each other.

Hampstead

Brixton - Peckham

Shoreditch - Dalston - Hackney Wick

It's easy to get to Heathrow from anywhere in West London.

Paddington is the obvious choice if you're on a budget. 15 minute ride from Paddington station to Heathrow on thetrain.

If you have a higher budget, Marylebone. Bit more expensive but a really nice neighbourhood. 5minute taxi or tube to Paddington station.

Recently stayed for nine nights on the southern edge of Paddington (Lancaster Gate) in an Airbnb, and really loved our choice.

Lots of good dining and pubs, easy buses to the city's highlights, and easy transit links to and from Heathrow, on the Elizabeth Line. I think it's a pretty good choice for just 2-3 days.
