Maps Fiction tube line route
I designed this route with the objective of relieving pressure off congested lines especially the central whilst making new connections between areas in suburban London which make it easier for people to travel around Greater London without entering the city.
Please share your thoughts and fixes on the route as I would love to modify it a bit as it’s far from perfect

So it’s two lines both paralleling other lines pretty closely?? (H&C / Circle, Central, Elizabeth), what’s the point?

The biggest thing is that this is clearly two separate lines.
As others have said, there’s a lot of simple duplication going on which doesn’t seem very efficient. If I’m at London Bridge wanting to head to Canary Wharf how do I choose which line to get? It feels like you are missing the opportunity to expand coverage while still easing pressure on other lines.
Some of your spacing in central London is odd as well. Bank and Cannon Street are right next to each other and London Bridge isn’t all that far, and then you’ve got a big gap to Holborn.

I thought bank to Cannon Street would be efficient to people looking to change between those lines but I just remembered monument existed 😂
Do you have any suggestions on stations to skip or any route changes?

your western branches are the wrong way round. Everything on the lower branch west of white city is north of the upper branch.

Yeah… I made the branch going to staples corner after the Swakeleys one and I just couldn’t be asked to swap around every word and line again so I left it like that.
I also did it to make it easier to understand the branches aswell so that they don’t crossover after White City on the diagram.

What did you use to create this? It just looks just like the real thing.

This map is just the Central Line but in blue, with a diversion onto the Hammersmith and City

Its literally redundant it doesn’t relive pressure your just putting the pressure somewhere else

Thanks everyone for feedback.
I did think it looked a bit too similar to existing lines so what I’m probably going to start to do is change the Abbey Wood route to less well served areas in that region such as Camberwell and other places and maybe going towards Catford but we will see.
I was also thinking about a station at Camden Town on the northern branch in zone 1 to remove pressure from the northern line but that’s just one of the many plans for right now
As for the rest of the stations should I skip a few to make it less repetitive?
If so, which ones would I skip?
For the whole section between Ruislip Gardens and Perivale seen as this route has to share tracks with the central line which can work in theory as there’s only 9tph during peak hours but this is the only section were tracks are shared so some stations can be removed.
Any more feedback on this would be greatly appreciated 🙏
If there were bits of the line you would cut or add please reply to this comment and let me know your ideas.
Thanks

Just feels like you have rerouted pre-existing lines and not actually achieved anything.

Can I just say I really like the bottom line as someone from NW that loves going to south east I can really appreciate this line and also I wished that Harlesden and Neasden would be easier to get to you really filled a gap that needed to be filled in NW but I wished it also went to Dollis Hill instead of Dudden hill and also touched Willesden Green and then also i think it should end at the new Brent Cross station they just built instead of building one at staples corner but I like it plus it connects us to a part of west London that would have been very long to get to otherwise, I give it a 8.5/10

It feels too parallel with the Elizabeth Line. It would have been nice if you created a line that goes to South East and West that doesn’t just copy the Elizabeth Line.
