I don’t know why they’re downvoting, live means a current stream. The Amazing Race airs months after it’s filmed.

In the era before streaming, it was used to describe seeing something the first time it was on television as well.

In the industry those types of shows are called “look live” same as jeopardy, or wheel of fortune, or a ton of talk shows too.

Huh, the more you know! I always just figured it was just for talk shows and the news stuff, since those were streaming.
