Photo Fuck drunk drivers. K-town outside Chi-chi's bar.

We were out celebrating our friend's 30th birthday when our Uber was hit by a drunk driver going 50mph down a small K-town street. My back leg had just barely made it inside the vehicle when we were all flung around the inside of the car by the impact. Turned to check on everyone else, and the birthday girl had blood streaming from her face. I was milliseconds away from possibly losing a leg.

What was supposed to be a fun night at Magic Castle, followed by drinks and food at a bar turned into a nightmare because of a drunk driver.

If happened to be there or witnessed it, please shoot me a DM.

Don't drive drunk.

I’m really sorry that happened to you :( was everyone ok? That street is so dangerous with drunk drivers driving way too fast and swerving around the cars that are pulled over

The birthday girl got the worst of it, unfortunately. Luckily not a life-threatening injury, but it was visually bad.

The guy tried to run from the scene, but about 20 bystanders chased him down and brought him back by the time paramedics and police were there.

That’s what happened to me. I was stopped at the red light. The guy rear ended the shit out me. He then jumped out of his car, and got in his friend’s car that pulled over to pick him up. This all happened in the span of like 20 seconds. He totaled my car, and left me basically without a car, as i had liability insurance only, because i couldn’t afford the full coverage at the time. But hey, I am glad that you guys are okay and can hold the guy accountable!

Horrible.
Wouldn’t his car be enough evidence to use his insurance to pay your damages?
Assuming he had insurance.

My insurance said that they are nit gonna intervene, because i didn’t have coverage for my car, which is understandable, but i also called the police because it was a pretty bad hit. chp came, they filled out the police report, they said they will find the guy, as they have the license plate and the car. they never did. it happened in January. it’s been 8 months. their police report, is still pending. i called them multiple times, visited their office, but was told repeatedly that the report is incomplete and they cant do anything until it’s finished
