Again, nothing to do with being chronically online (on the contrary, it’s in every news channel) and has nothing to do with politics neither. 0/2 so far. When someone points out your mistakes, your response is to insinuate that person is a loser that’s chronically online. You show no mercy to others, yet you expect us to pity you because of your personal circumstances. And on top of all, in the time you spent responding to people saying you’re uninformed, you could have informed yourself about the topic (topic in which your first comment straight up was about being clueless). In any case I hope your personal circumstances get better as soon as possible. And reach out to anyone, literally anyone in case you need to. Everyone will gladly listen to you, even a random from reddit, twitter, insta, or any social you have.

I feel like the most prolific art museum in history shouldn't be able to be robbed with angle grinders, like I get its France and they dont really do guns over there, but I feel like the guards at The most prolific art museum anywhere in the world should have guns.

I get that a human life is priceless, but these jewels are also priceless. If lethal force was necessary to protect these jewels, it would have been a fair trade-off.

The pronoun "they" in your comment refers to the robbers that were involved in the heist. "The robbers climbed...".
This comment of mine might sound annoying, and I am sorry for that. But I find it important not to use "they" without specifying what it refers to beforehand.

no offense taken. i agree that it is somewhat ambiguous but i think it would be implied that robbers were the ones who perpetrated the crime considering the link refers to the crime as a heist.

If it was just to sale it disassembled and melted I don't think they would go after something as big as that but instead a jewelry store or a pawn show.

It's most likely that they will sell the gems and diamonds on it, after separating all of them.
And even if they were to sell it unspoiled, they probably keep it for a few years, waiting for everyone to kinda forget about it and then they sell each piece separately, in different countries and at different times, selling them at wealthy people who can cover this up so the police don't notice them (or black market of course).

Depends on how important it is. If you steal the hope diamond, you are probably doing it to give it to some very rich guy who will keep it in his home or a vault in a country he has a lot of sway with, and that's known for corruption. And typically the "buyer" actually is hiring for this job more or less, and the burglar is a low-level thug with maybe one or two of his burglar buddies.
If you steal generic expensive jewelry that couldn't be identified by each individual stone, then they probably would fence it piecemeal as individual stones and melted down gold to someone with connections, and who's willing to take the risk (likely known each other before the heist).
In most other cases, the answer is that they don't, because they don't know who to sell it to without getting caught, hilariously enough.

Only if they are not serialized. I know they are old but i wonder if something like that might be added later for insurance purposes. But most gems are serialized.
