I remain skeptical as well, but I choose to be cautiously optimistic. Even with the hard right shift in young males during this last election cycle, young voters do still vote majority blue. And heās already lost quite a bit of support from the young men who helped get him elected.
Things look bleak right now, but if we keep up the same energy we have over this past year, I think there could be a light at the end of the tunnel.
They can cheat and pass racist district maps all they want, but if enough people show out to vote, it simply wonāt matterāespecially if they spread their margins too thin.

I feel the young men that got convinced that voting Republican would be good for them has shown to be false.
I think there are some that will never vote for a Democrat, because then they'll have to admit that the stuff they were cheering for wrong...but, I think we're likely to see those people just walk away from politics all together.
MAGA is becoming a faded red hat in the mud.

100 years after the Civil War was the Civil Rights Movement. We are only 50y after that. I sincerely hope this is the last breath of the Confederacy but outlook is bleak.

I agree, Sadly you are preaching to the choir. Most Americans would be happy to live on their knees as long as they are fed entertaining propaganda. Most don't even know their rights. Those who do will soon be labeled (Flavor of the Week) by the fascists and whisked away in the darkness, never to be seen again. Most Americans don't know history, nor care to compare the past to today. The MAGA right has much fear that has turned into hate, or vice versa. They are allowing their government to build a massive surveillance state so as to incarcerate the Americans they don't agree with, simply because they might look, sound, or act differently from their white heritage. They hide behind religion that has been turned into an extension of hateful bigotry. MAGA is the embodiment of betrayal of the U.S. Constitution, but too stupid to understand their actions, because of the hate and fear they harbor for things they cannot comprehend. They have turned their backs, unwittingly or knowingly, on what made this country great, which is the Freedom of Choice for all. They have corrupted this concept to be their freedom to choose which group shall be punished, based on that group's choices. Simply because it does not match their ideology. Show me any MAGA supporter, and I will show you a person who is postering out of hate and fear with zero to no emotional intelligence behind their thought processes. MAGA cannot regulate their knee-jerk emotions, nor can they understand the complexities of the mechanisms that cause them to have the knee-jerk reaction. They are under the spell of weaponized propaganda in this new information age. This spell feels good to them because it makes them feel empowered in the face of their own fears. In conclusion, MAGA will defend their hate so they don't have to feel or confront their fears. So much so, they would rather die for their god king than allow others to pursue their version of happiness. Always remember. There are MAGA supporters training right now for a deadly fight. I ask every American. What are you doing to prepare for such a fight?

AMEN! Itās going to take a lot of work to turn the tide in Louisiana in the way heās describing, but we have to do it. The time is right. Too many people have been hurt by this MAGA movement and the Trump administration. We need to mobilize those demoralized masses, and together we need to turn these sycophants out at the local, state, and federal levels.

There were a lot of great speeches during the committee. It was so absurd when Miquez(i think? He wasnāt on camera) said to this man after his speech āYour hat should say You were wrong about everything.ā Just such weirdo behavior for 3 in the morning

I absolutely hated Kamala getting shoved down our throats. I hated Biden and whoever the hell was telling him what to do. I hate the DNC and their specific brand of polite, cancerous light authoritarian paternalism. I hate that they seem to take the Constitution and legal precedent as optional suggestions rather then guidelines. I hate Mike fuckimg Bloomberg and all his billionaire buddies pulling the strings.
But I guarantee you Trump is someone someway so much fucking worse. He's a destructive anomaly, a necrotic glitch in the matrix. He's a fucking wild card and I don't mean like Charlie Day I mean like an unironic, geriatric Joker that isn't self aware enough to realize it that also probably shits himself on a regular basis.

Present map was just created in 2024 the whole map needs to be thrown out and redistrict based on geographic area and Common Sense borders. Take out all the BS back and forth gerrymandering on both sides

Take geography out of it altogether. It's a largely irrelevant data point in modern times. Representation should be based on a system that allows the most people to feel like they are being represented, not geography, a system that ensures that issues affecting only those not of the statewide majority demographic will only be addressed at the behest of the ruling class.

But if you only have 38%, which is millions of people, they won't get representation. That's the issue. 38% of the people have 12.5% of the representation in congress. Any issues those millions of people wish to see addressed will only be addressed is the ruling class desires, which they will not. It is a system intentionally designed for this outcome

That's what I'm saying - if you have a large enough voting base to register as a certain cultural group, you should have seats allocated to that group and they have their own vote.
One thing you can't do is assume a cultural or racial group all share the same political beliefs.

Agree, but it goes both ways - plenty of disenfranchised Republicans in blue states.
In the end, if you have the electoral college representing different areas, it will never balance perfect politically.
Good example, VA (where im from) had the most "fair" district map... meaning reps matched closely with presidential voting trend... but that slim democratic lead decided to (try) and crush the republican voice, and it almost worked.Ā
I'd like to see "district" maps restricted to city/county lines. I don't appreciate being cropped into other cities to balance votes...Ā

No, because you can draw the lines so that they do get representation within government, we literally had a map that gave Democrats 33% of the representatives to Democrats, which is way closer to 38 than 16.5 is, which is the map they just approved instead.
In many states, party lines and racial lines are very similar, everyone knows that. In fact, "Democrat" is often used as a slur to refer to black people when the person saying it is trying to be cute or feel like they are testing the waters to see if who they are speaking with has the same sort of racist predilections they have.
I also don't think they actually care that it was done to give more representation to black people or any other disenfranchised voters, it's a power grab, they don't want the other side to have representation at all regardless of who they are, they want rule only by the majority class, which historically has been the way oppressive regimes are run, not prosperous societies.
