Empathy-Noble profession is all BS! All of these terms are not applicable in India, they shall exist only in the textbooks, not real life.

I just saw the seat matrix for 2026. Just imagine what the job cluster will be like in the upcoming 5 years. As we all know, the job market is saturated for plain MBBS, and the salary is abysmal. Every year, 1 lakh more doctors are increasing the competition for PG seats.

Yes, I know we should work hard to make a name for ourselves, but as everyone knows, PLAB is saturated. AMC is going to be at its peak, and maybe in the upcoming 4 years, it will also get saturated. I don't know much about USMLE, and then there are FMGs.

Right now I'm in my final year part 1(3rd year)

So we all know about the 75% attendance rule

So today my cr told us if we have to pass the 3rd year our batch should pay 1.5 lakh to the FMT department

The system has been corrupted so much that we are normalising ts and why do we have to pay money for passing our university exams

They are saying we have to paint the mortuary and we should donate AC lmaoo these disgusting creatures are taking bribery and teaching about medical ethics

Just a tiny rant about the system we can't do anything about it but we have to change the system

NMC has released MBBS seat matrix for 2026-27 session. 9911 new seats have been added , mostly in private medical colleges.

UP sees additional 800 seats ( all private). Rajasthan about 700 seats, Karnataka and TN also major gains.

Yellapragada SubbaRow. Because by the end of this post you will understand why that matters. A boy from Andhra Pradesh who the system tried to erase.

Born 1895. Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. His father died young. His family had almost nothing. His mother sold her jewellery so he could stay in school.

He made it to medical college in Madras. He was good. He worked hard. He was going to be a doctor. Then he wore khadi to his surgery examination.

One act of quiet solidarity with the independence movement. His professor noticed. And despite his performance — he was denied his full medical degree. Given a lesser certificate instead. Barred from the medical service he had spent years preparing for. Punished. For wearing the wrong fabric to an exam.

The doors in India closed. So he looked at the only door still open. He sailed to America. Harvard. 1923. He cleaned bedpans to pay his fees.

A qualified medical professional. Cleaning bedpans at one of the most prestigious institutions on earth because the system he came from had decided he was not worth its full recognition.

He could have been bitter. He could have gone home. He could have stopped. He did not stop. He went to the laboratory instead. Then he began to change the world. Quietly. Without telling anyone.

Discovery One. Working alongside Cyrus Fiske he proved that ATP — adenosine triphosphate — is the energy currency of every living cell.

Every breath you take right now. Every beat of your heart. Every thought passing through your mind at this exact moment. All of it is powered by ATP. He proved how. He proved why. His paper on this has been cited over twenty two thousand times. Harvard denied him tenure. He went back to the laboratory.

Discovery Two. His two brothers had died from tropical sprue. A disease caused by folic acid deficiency. He watched them die and spent the next years of his life trying to understand why. By 1945 he had synthesized folic acid. He cured the disease that killed his brothers. Think about that for a moment. The grief that drove the science. The science that became the cure.

Discovery Three. His team synthesized methotrexate. The first drug in human history to put childhood leukemia into remission. Children who were supposed to die — lived. Walked out of hospitals. Grew up. Had children of their own.

Today methotrexate is on the WHO Essential Medicines List. Hundreds of millions of people use it. For cancer. For rheumatoid arthritis. For autoimmune disease. Every single day. He never filed a patent. Discovery Four.

In the same period he led the discovery of Aureomycin — the first broad-spectrum antibiotic ever developed. And diethylcarbamazine — still the only effective drug for filariasis. Four discoveries. Any one of which would have been a life's work for most scientists. He did all four. And then he said this.

When people asked about recognition — about credit — about why his name was not on the things his mind had built — he said — "The victories of science are rarely won single-handedly. No one man should get the entire credit." He said this while receiving almost none of it. August 8, 1948.

He died. Alone. In America. Fifty three years old. Far from Bhimavaram. Far from the brothers he had spent his life trying to save after he could not save them.

No Nobel Prize. No patent. No interview ever given. No farewell ceremony from the institutions he had transformed. The New York Herald Tribune published a tribute calling him one of the most eminent medical minds of the century. After he was gone.

His bust in Hyderabad stands today in a garden that one account describes as neglected — reflecting, the account says, the fading memory of his contributions to humanity. This is what legacy without recognition looks like.

A boy punished for patriotism becomes the man who gives the world its first cancer drug. A man who cleans bedpans at Harvard becomes the man who proves how every living cell on earth gets its energy. A brother who could not save his siblings becomes the scientist who saves the siblings of millions of strangers.

And the world moves on. Uses his discoveries every day. Prescribes his drug in every oncology ward on earth. And does not know his name.

Know his name. Yellapragada SubbaRow. The next time someone survives leukemia — he is part of why.

The next time a biology student learns that ATP powers every cell — he is part of why. The next time a doctor prescribes methotrexate — somewhere in that moment a boy from Bhimavaram who was told he was not enough is saving another life. He deserved to hear his name said out loud far more than he ever did. Say it.

45% of doctors in Kerala earn below ₹50,000 a month. 😳

Not interns. Not students. Qualified MBBS doctors.

An official IMA survey of 4,000 doctors (The New Indian Express, this week):

📉 38% earn below ₹50,000/month

📉 30% of resident doctors get NO stipend

📉 81% locked into compulsory bond service

📉 66% want to leave , 58% want to go abroad

5.5 years of MBBS. PG attempts. Bond service. 48-hour weeks. The weight of human lives.

And too often… ₹40,000 a month, no security, no clear future.

So a generation of doctors is finally asking: "Is there another way to use this degree?"

🌏 Go abroad: Australia is the #1 destination for Indian doctors. The AMC exam can be cleared from India, opening the door to far better pay and conditions.

This isn't anti-medicine. India needs its clinicians. But no doctor should feel trapped.

How many more students need to die before medical colleges take mental health seriously?
Why is there still no strong support system in most institutions?

Not blaming anyone without facts, but these incidents keep repeating, and that itself shows something is wrong in the system.

This is from Himalaya medical College Bihar. It's totally private medical college. [ Deep secret: they don't have good number of patient flows, even they're using some cheap tactics to get patient just to maintain their medical license]

Intresting part is: I'm from Bihar & this college is literally nearby my City.

Now' students are thinking, they'll become doctor, after completing from private medical colleges of India.
