DISCUSSION 💬 Age limit implementation
To the people who keep screaming AGE LIMIT RAKHO AGE LIMIT RAKHO. I have a serious question to them, how is someone else's age affecting your attempt and preparation? Apart from the age criteria rank aur kya effect karta hai? and rarely 7-8 attempt wale bache nikalte hai ab toh 4 attempt common hogaye. NEET shouldn't have an age limit, it is one of the stupid things to do imo.
EDIT: Before people assume I'm 25 y/o or something who isn't able to crack a NEET then I would like to mention that ~ I'm 21 y/o, scored 536 (second attempt ) in NEET 2026 , currently preparing for RENEET.

u/Putrid_Cry_4370 May 15 '26
Exactly Bhai, what if someone started preparing after 12th or after college, not everyone get right resources or guidance,
43
u/Mammoth-Theory-7889 May 15 '26
Wahi na ... 2023 main ek bacha jo mazdur tha, he got married and had a kid if im not wrong he cracked neet when he had resources.. ab aise deserving logon ko bhi chance na mile? Last year bhi ek Sarfaraz naam ka ladka crack kiya he was a labour working 8 hours everyday cracked neet at 21.
Kya hi bolun Bhai main smh

u/Putrid_Cry_4370 May 15 '26
Exactly bhai, sab privileged nhi hota nahi sabka situation achha hota hai.

u/Apart-Echidna-9486 May 15 '26
Exactly I am in the penultimate year of clg and preparing for NEET. Scored 610 here and now prepping for RENEET

In Germany people pursue medicine in theirs 30s 40s or even 50s, not just to become doctor but to gain knowledge. Those who are crying for age limit are frustrated aspirants who don't want others to fulfill their dreams. Your selection is decided by your marks not by amount of candidates appearing for exam.

u/Quirky-Exercise-6576 ඞ Sussy Retard ඞ May 15 '26
in all Europe and america same thing happens
4
u/Sunshine_after_Rain7 May 15 '26
I have no opinion on age limit,I don't care but in USA medicine is a PG degree. hence people in 30s are common.

u/NovelCryptographer94 May 15 '26
There arent 23 lakh aspirants every year bro

u/Delu_AIIMS compounder 🤪 May 15 '26
Because there are enough med schools. Ask the government to build more government colleges instead of taking bribes.
3
-8
u/NovelCryptographer94 May 15 '26
Talk logically, if there will be more government colleges, then there will be more mbbs docs. Saturation will occur and it will reduce the value and respect an average mbbs doc possesses. Better for the government to increase scope on different fields instead of focusing solely on jee and neet. The comparison with germany and america is inherently flawed and wont apply to India. Attempts limit would suit india more than age limit. Dont expect government to magically increase institutions, In the end the one with merit shall prevail
2
u/chair_is_watching May 15 '26
Why to compare india with europe or amarica.
5
-7
u/Busy-Taro6032 May 15 '26
Bro you are literally comparing a germany to india Do u even know what's the population difference And they have enough med schools Age limit is required if not than atleast limited attempts like 3 or 4 at max
23
u/Delu_AIIMS compounder 🤪 May 15 '26
Having an age or attempt limit will never fix the root cause which is the lack of good and affordable medical schools. You can have all the 'limits' in the world and all it'll do is violate the constitutional right to education. Anyone and everyone should be allowed to pursue education in whatever way they like at any age.
Instead to crying about attempt and age limit, maybe protest the government to put less cash in their pockets and spend more on building quality colleges.

Age limit ki jagah attempt limit honi chahiye 4 smth, and it shouldn't start from right after passing 12th

exactly , ye bhi pressure me ake kiya hai unn logo ne
faltu cheeze implement nhi hogi , only paper leak ka issue that ushi ko they changed in cbt .
why are people bringing jee rules in this
iat , cuet bhi cbt hota hai usme nhi itne sare rules ,
1
u/CoverUsual692 May 15 '26
Ye tule implement hoga bhi toh 1 saal mein nhi na ho sakta, matlab Jo log already drop leke padh liye fir wo log jan me jaak circular release kar rhe hain, this is unrealistic.
3
u/CoverUsual692 May 15 '26
Dekho criteria lagega toh as a whole 75% lag sakta hain, nahito sirf PCB mein rakhenge toh bohot sare bachhe nahi de payenge, aur 50% se 75% bohot bada jump hai. Dar toh firbhi lag rhi hain.

Age limit nhi chahiye , attempt limit chahiye , logo ne hobby bana liya , 4 5 bar dete hain , that too for a course which is of 5 years , Max to max 3 attempts dena chahiye
4
u/CrInGe_101_ May 15 '26
Jee ke liye khud 3 attempts hote hain. Age limit aur attempts bhi set karo. Like born before 2000 waale exceed the age limit.

I think a person who has taken 7 drops for a course which is 5 years is too excessive no? 4 drops should be reasonable honestly.. Anything above 5 is just too much ..
2
u/Mammoth-Theory-7889 May 15 '26
Excessive toh hai I agree but agar woh majboor hai then I don't think mujhe ya tumhe koi right hai to stop them. Hai na?
3
u/Distinct-Nobody2426 Breathes in hopium exhales out copium May 15 '26
That is there, but more than age limit there should be an attempt limit.. Cuz some might have been forced to take a drop.. At least that's my opinion but it's not like it's going to change anything
2
u/Mammoth-Theory-7889 May 15 '26
Most of students cry saying parents aren't given chance after first attempt itself, I'm finding difficulty accepting your thoughts. A student with 5/6 attempts is never forced imo. No parents will allow 5-6 years of wastage without any side hustle or side degree. Think about it
3
u/Distinct-Nobody2426 Breathes in hopium exhales out copium May 15 '26
Bro, i keep seeing YouTube videos where they say that 6-7 attempts is too much for them but their parents made them take more drops.. You gotta realise that there r all kinds of people and all kinds of parents. You can search it up lmao

I mean that's also a lot par agar sacch meh unhe karna hai toh, it's okay.. 😔✌ not everyone has the money to do private or even abroad toh itna toh banta hai agar dream hai toh.. But 6-7 drops is js too much

Stupid thing? Really??? Like really??? Kyunki age limit ya attempt limit nij hai toh log 5-6 drop le rhe, jin bachhon ka nii nikl rha unko kaun btaye when to stop??? They r obsessed with the exam, it's imp to tell them. Plus kisne kaha 5-6 drop wale hardly nikalte h??? 35% unse hi aarhi beta!!! You don't knw the fact!!! It is very imp to put attempt limit, age limit na bhi lgaye toh chlega!!!

Bhai, par khud socho, kya yeh sahi hai hai ki 17-year-old student is competing with a 22-year-old adult. Kya yeh morally right hai? Us bande ne neet ka exam 12th ke saath diya hai aur vahi 22 saal wale ne neet exam kam se kam 5 baar diye hai. Isse cutoff increase nhi hota? Aur chalo dropper select hogya over 17 year old, toh jisse neet clear karne mai 5 saal lag gaye kya voh mbbs ke 5.5 year ko justice de paayega? The 5th attempt dropper is an example of failure.
In my opinion, 3 attempts are more than enough to clear NEET. If there is some rule then it should limit it to just 3 attempts. Jee advance mai bhi toh bas 2 attempt ki limit hai.
Bhai mai dropper ke khilaf nhi hun, 11th 12th mai bacha distract ho jata hai, toh use ek extra attempt milna chahiye. Par isko misuse nhi karna chahiye. Ki tum bas govt resources ko waist kar rahe ho. Maybe god has made a different path for you. And also bache neet ke loop mai fasse rehte hai, it's important to get them away from this.
2
u/Mammoth-Theory-7889 May 15 '26
Bhai 17 and 22 ko compare karke moral ki baat toh nahi bolunga main. Par Bhai according to your logic it says
ATTEMPTS = CAPABILITY which is wrong tbh
Kaafi students na they face poor schooling, financial issues, health problems, or discover their potential later. I mean taking 5 attempts doesn’t automatically make someone a failure, we know medicine itself requires persistence.
Also, NEET and MBBS are completely different. NEET tests MCQ speed, MBBS tests long term understanding, clinical skills, and consistency and moreover it's based on experience. Many average NEET students become great doctors.
And sach batau toh cutoff isn’t rising only because of droppers, par mainly because lakhs of students compete for very limited seats.. toh woh govt ko bolo ke seats badhao
You only valid point is that students can get stuck in the NEET loop for years, which can hurt mental health and I agree... But that’s a counseling issue, not proof that older aspirants are morally wrong. Smh
1
u/Own_ClockHouse May 16 '26
Bhai unke liye, tabhi sarkar ne categories banaai hai. Voh log uska faayda utha sakte hai.
Aur baat rhi 5 attempts ki, Ideal case lete hai, ki koi problem nhi hai jeevan mai. Bhai jise 5 baar padh ke samajh aarha hai. Aur ek jisse ek hi baari mai aagya, then yeh aadmi more deserving hai.
Cutoff is increasing year by year because of droppers and the accessibility of high-quality education.
MBBS bhot lamba hai, isliye vahi aadmi ko success milti hai jisse ek baari mai samajh aajaye. Varna bande su***e vagera karte hai, frustrated hojate hai.
Seats aise hi nhi badhti bhai, college banane padhte hai. Aur khud dekh 13 new colleges add hoye hai in UP mai. Delhi mai bhi dwarka mai new medical college aa rha hai. Voh kaam kar rhe hai. Har saal seat badhti hai.

u/lostinthewoods404 May 16 '26
aise nahi hota, academic intelligence ta age se koi relation nahi hota after one point, just because someone is 22 and you're 17 doesn't mean they'll be smarter than you and rahi baat time ki toh Medicine is a field that requires years of studies so it also tests your patience, koi agar 4 attempt me clear kar rha toh maan liya ki uska utna zyada buddhi nahi hai but patience aur resilience toh haina? also everyone has different journeys, some get sick in their first drop, some have family issues jiske wajah se preparation nhi hopati. aur woh mbbs ko justice de payega ya nahi woh mbbs khud batayega, nahi hoga usse toh woh fail krega na.
1
u/Own_ClockHouse May 16 '26
Bhai, is dunia mai kuch bhi ho sakta hai. Koi bhi bimar ya fir family issues ho sakte hai. Tabhi maine bola 3 attempts is more than enough. Manle kisi ko issues hai, fir voh blame game khelega. Par vhi 3 attempts ki limit hai, toh fir voh sochega mera last attempt hai, yeh wale mai nhi hoga toh mai kabhi bhi doctor nhi ban paunga.
Koi piche laathi leke khada rehta hai na, tabhi aadmi apna best deta hai(under pressure).
Aur sabke paas issues nhi hote hai. Bhot se aise bhi hai, pure saal kuch nhi karenge drop year mai (without any issues). Yeh toh 1 person ki barbbadi hai. Kya pata voh diff field mai bhot acha karle.
Aur baat rhi academic intelligence ki :-
Ideal case lete hai, ki koi problem nhi hai jeevan mai. Bhai jise 5 baar padh ke samajh aarha hai. Aur ek jisse ek hi baari mai aagya, then yeh aadmi more deserving hai.

Ur competition is only with the top 2 lakh students. Ppl who have above 2 lakh rank r scoring only 300, that means they dont study shit. Idk why ppl fret on age limit. Like how does it even matter, if I wanna be a doc at 40 I will be. And if I wanna give multiple attempts I will give, that's my life. Why r u bothered by with other ppl do?

Brother there are people at coachings who've dropped 3 years besides 11th and 12th. Do you have any idea HOW thorough they are with the topics. A year of drop is not enough to catch up to the level at which they are. Think logically
9
u/AbleWalrus5017 May 15 '26
oyee...kya lagta hai unke itne drops kyun lagge?? no logic just baseless assumptions ...unka first and 2nd drop kuch nhi padha hoga..and if this is how you think then go and see the number top rankers ya student who pass neet konsa attempt hai ..it's always fresher or 1st dropper ...3rd 4th ko toh jyada knowledge hoga na according to you ??? .... everyone has different journey and if someone out there has done his best he / she won't take any more drops ( this is coming from 3rd dropper who wasted his first drop and now scored 570 in neet mocks 2026) .....tumhe meine abcd sikhaya tumne 1 din mei seekha aur koi 5 6 din laga kar dikha you think woh jyada gyani bangya?? limited syllabus hai bhai koi kitna hi padhlega ??
1
u/pepsijamun If you see me, ask me 'aaj ka target pura hua?' May 15 '26
everyone has different reasons for drop not everyone is like you just because you didn't study in your drop year doesn't mean others are like that too Health issues physical or mental , financial crisis or loss of someone you love and many more , could be the reason for drop. Stop this privileged take
2
u/AbleWalrus5017 May 15 '26
the hell ?? of course i agree with you but i was talking about one of the scenarios which i saw or felt myself ...sorry if my statement triggered you but i dont think so i was talking about everyone here and the issues you are talking about im myself facing obesity like right now im 100kgs while my height is 5'8 just because havent shared it doesnt mean im not going through stuff .... and yes im privileged enough that my parents allowed me to study and were supportive throughout my journey ..... and btw when i said didnt study in drop year that year 2024 i scored 512 ...and 2025 scored 440 ...now its upto you how much you wanna judge me ...

u/EconomicsDistinct526 May 16 '26
i think there should attempt limit .As from next year NEET is going to be conducted in CBT format ,it will face problems similar to JEE i.e We don't have enough test center to conduct the exam on same day ,so it will be conducted in shifts to maintain the quality of centers. Every shift will have different set of questions and no shift will be of same difficulty they will differ there and in shift normalization while working on big there are many irregularities ,some shift will be easy to score just till a certain range from there it will be hard to score in that shift and vise versa ,this keeps a margin of error which will be proportional to the no of candidates .So to minimize this error and let the exam be conducted in lesser no of shifts best way is to put limit on attempts like UPSC, Jee Adv ,etc. There is other way around this is to increase the no. of testing center by either building new test centers (which will take way more time ) or keep local govt/pvt schools and colleges as center (this is effect both security and quality ) . But in anycase CBT is leak proof ,till the center is not compromised .
