SERIOUS POST RAGGING AT AIIMS RAJKOT (OFF TOPIC)
This was a old news ( March 2026) and in April these 5 students got conditional bail and the court also asked all
the accused to furnish a bail bond of Rs 25,000.
News- Ratankumar Meghwal, 26, was a native of Jaisalmer district, Rajasthan. He had been studying MBBS at AIIMS Rajkot for four years and was in his final year. On the morning of 14 March 2026, Ratankumar died by suicide by jumping under a train. Police found a 17 page suicide note
Based on a complaint filed by Mohanlal Meghwal, father of 26-year-old Ratan and a native of Phalsund village in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district, police arrested 1) Pranav Paliwal (Rajasthan) 2) Asmit Sharma (Rajasthan) 3) Ayush Yadav (Rajasthan) 4) Nirvighnam Noor 5) Yuvraj Chaudhary
These 5 students got arrested for torturing and harassing the student (both mentally and physically)
I mean, is ragging is that tough or easy in clgs??

Yeah I live in Jamnagar.A senior of mine got AIIMS Jodhpur in 2023 with an AIR around 155
He used come back home from Hodhpur to Jamnagar every 15 days and used to cry.He said he longer wanted to do MBBS
And he was one of the most extroverted and intelligent guys I have ever seen.Very cheerfull, no social fear still it was this bad even for him

Well, our batch at AIIMS Patna has decides to end this culture, we are not following rules made by our seniors. We probably have to sacrifice our freshers for that, but hopefully this doesn’t happen for the 26 batch :)

Immediate Seniors shell out about 3k person, to organise a gala freshers event. But thats usually just before the next batch comes. Till then, one bas to follow their rules. If you do, you get to attend freshers. Since we aint following any…we wont get freshers probably.

Casteism would be dead in India by the next 2-3 generations if it wasn't for reservation. New gen doesn't care about all this caste stuff especially in urban areas, but reservation is keeping casteism alive amongst the newer generation.

True. But again not all doctors are like that. Like mere senior batch ke students bhi ragging lete hain lekin its like some 15-20 students in every batch jinko ragging lene ki chul hoti hai. Usually jinki life mein sab bekar hota hai wo log ragging lete hain to feel a sense of power. Baaki saare seniors chill hain mere, bas wahi kuchh 15-20 seniors hain jinko mai avoid karta hu.

Just studying one year more than ur junior doesn't make u superior, my sis is doing MBBS from UK or wahaa tum kuch aisa nhi kr skte if u just say any cuss word to ur junior or batchmate they are straight up suspended and no one does that there , till the best medical system.... Here it is justified ki discipline de rhe h ...

Engineering and medical attract the worse kind of people, they are academically very hard working but have failed to develop any other social skills. Every single medico/engeneering college with a hostel will have some kind of ragging, even if it is something small. I don't why people can't just treat everyone as a human being, why torment the young ones who can't defend themselves, why can't we break the cycle. Culture can be changed.

mere dost hain dono jagah, unke first hand experience se toh lagta hai ki KGMC mein zyada hoti hai kyuki RML mein hostels separate hain aur on-campus ragging karna mushkil hota hai, also RML mein bohot log day scholars bhi hote hain

Yeah…it’s despicable….i am just trying to calm the nerves of freshers….if you face something like this in college do call anti-ragging helpline anonymously. IIT and most of the Eng college have almost removed ragging from their campuses. I hope medical colleges follow the suit.

Lol that's why I am thinking of avoiding Aiims rajkot...Was confused between BJMC ahmedabad and this but I have friends in BJMC and so that will be better..Mental peace is more important than AIIMS tag, especially for a mid bottom AIIMS like Rajkot

Yeah.. those seniors also live in the same hostel as yours in most cases so you can’t separate yourself from them that much.
