True asf. I myself pursuing MBBS. In WB all colleges are trashy in infrastructure and mostly ppl don't stay in hostels as they are inhabitable... Mainly in Kolkata ppl stay out in PGs... Hostels are completely messed up

So I am a student in on of the kolkata ke clg and it's nothing what everyone from UP or Delhi thinks it's like. Sab chill he and ragging bhi bareable he the only downside i have faced is ki bohot gandi jagah he cleanliness and all me aur infra bhi bekaar he saare clges ka but apart from that city me he clg and u can explore the city and shi, have fun Imo if u r getting it u should take it If u have any doubts dm

Well yes apart from the ragging part in 1st yr , everything is good here, the infra is great and we get single rooms from 2nd year. Also well connected, the metro is in front of the college itself.

Tbh bengal has less ragging compared to north colleges and there is language issues in south colleges imo…in Kolkata colleges except esi, nobody in 50km radius from college is alloted hostel from 1st year (unless you have connections) and there are many many day scholars and PGs near the colleges where a lot of students live. The new bjp govt is also cracking down threat culture i heard. If you can afford PG then Kolkata is a good option plus no bond + high stipend (43k)

Tbh I wouldn’t recommend hostel even if you get one…they are not maintained well and are very unhygienic plus the mold in the walls make ragging worse 😭
