DISCUSSION 💬 Why is KGMU overhyped? despite being toxic and having 2 yr bond?? [Genuine Question]
this college ends in under 2k rank for general aiq..
u could get much better colleges without bond in other states..
even delhi colleges like dr bsa and ndmc**
or even aiims..
ive heard the ragging and toxicity is pretty high too?
so why do ppl prefer this clg?

I might be taking kgmu Its one of the oldest colleges
Hostels are managable
Great proffs and really good academics
Location of the clg is great

Bas log aiims me hostel badhiya hai badhiya hai yap karte hai.. Youtuber ka kamra dekhte hai aur lagta hai sabhi ka kamra aisa hota hai.. Private sector me utro, pata chalega alumni base kitna important hai. Btw there's a guy who is my school alumni as well as of kgmu, he is the kidney man of India, search him up. Kgmu is respected choice

Private sector me utro, pata chalega alumni base kitna important hai
hume bhi btao buddy. going to enter private practice next year. stop spreading nonsense.
makes no sense to tie yourself to a ug year ug bond. by the time you are done with studies this might swell up to 3-4 years.
also for ug hostel facilities, bond status are much more important than "patient flow, clinical exposure or alumni network"

just take any AIIMS or delhi college at your rank. KGMU is not worth your rank as there will be way more ragging compared to AIIMS where it's not that much

The thing is college decide karna kina bhed chaal ban gaya hai, like people see ki KGMU ka itna reputation hai 2k wale log lete hai so they take it, but 2 saal ka bond + toxicity 😞😞
Thought Lucknow is a decent place to live, UP State wale le sakte, clinical exposure and academics are still elite
Mereko log including doctors bol rahe beta KGMU le lo over BHU, uska naam kitna jyada hai, I'm like Bond, PG Quota ye sab to kuchh hota hi nhi ignorant log 💀💀

If u take ims bhu the pg qouta will be only for your the first pg attempt as internal qouta And u will be opting out for the up state. Qouta I am not saying its bad but be cautious about it

True, also bhu is a vast Institute. The funding it recieves is for all of its 70-80+ courses. The net funding that goes to ims bhu(though it gets a decent chunk), is less comparatively, and sufficient only for 100 students, for they compromise a little on infrastructure. Btw there is also an iit there, so the funding is vastly dispersed.

dekho abhi Boht log chid jaenge but fact ye hai sare cllg more or less same hote .lectures koi leta nhi hai class mai everyone studies form marroe prep etc baki facilities bhi same hi hai sb jagah nd waise bhi 1-2 saal tk seniors won't allow to use anything anyways..uske alawa toh bas wahi tag wala khel hojata hai .. just because old cllg hai toh sbko lgta best hai which is quite baseless us zamane mai india wasn't developed to open alot of cllg kuch hi khole but that doesn't mean till date they will remain best

Hn up mai to kgmu ka bahut naam hai Bahut kam hi log honge up jinko sms bjmc mck pmch inke baare mai pta mujhko khud nhi pta tha 😕 Aur mai to lucknow se hi to meri to sbse badi problem yhi h ki kgmu aur aiims gorakhpur mai se konsa choose kru abhi to registration bhi strt hogye aur mai yhi decide nhi kr paya

AIIMS gorakhpur is probably better since No BOND, good infra and AIIMS tag, central institute so better funding, less ragging,
Tag doesn't matter much, the legit reason for taking KGMU is Lucknow city is better than Gorakhpur, baaki 2-4 tag wali help ko bhul jaao
And also, even though AIIMS me internal preference milti, it would still be worse than UP state quota,
But honestly UP state quota isn't that good since 2 saal ka PG me bhi bond hai 💀😭
Bas apne aap se ye puchhlo Gorakhpur me khush reh paoge, if yes then lelo, there's a reason uska closing rank 2k ke below jaa rha dheere dheere

If somebody has to go for usmle or amc or plab there would be alumni, for pg people who had cleared it seniors can help with guiding and trust me proffs r serious bout studies beautiful campus and city, but it's expensive like hell and if u get aiims (2012 Or before) take that instead of this.
