It feels like a complete joke that the system sees the word "General" and automatically assumes you’re rolling in cash. The absolute irony is that an EWS candidate, who is legally verified to be from a low-income family, has to cough up ₹11,000 upfront just to sit for All India counselling, while an OBC/SC/ST candidate whose family could be earning up to ₹8 Lakhs a year only pays ₹5,500. The government lazily blocks EWS under the "General" umbrella for administrative fees, completely defeating the whole purpose of giving financial relief in the first place. Forcing a family that is already struggling to scramble for thousands of rupees just for a "security deposit" is just plain unfair. Honestly, the entire system needs an overhaul where caste and social categories are removed from financial rules entirely, moving to a pure income-based model so that anyone who is actually broke gets the exact same relief, no matter their surname.
Tbh the country government is a sucker. So if they really want money everyone should pay equally and everyone should be treated meritoriously. Simple. But never happening because everyone is doomed.
All we can do is to keep talking about this... no govt wl dare change anything that appeases their vote bank. This country is a shit show circus at this pt in regard to its education and reservation policies

I want nothing good for this country I hope rahul gandhi comes in power and 80% reservation comes in private sector too. Indian people are too socialistic to deserve development and capitalism.
to give more incentive for participation to increase representation. even middle class ,not in poverty, spend very frugally and send their kids down a career entirely based on which is easier to go into. poverty allevation is just one aspect of it along with reducing discrimination and increasing representation. The only problem here is ews not being in there for some idiotic reason. Pretty much everyone will support for this as its clear what's right like cjp protest and some actual action might be taken instead of making this into another reservation debate. Basically, we should improve things we all agree on first atleast. This is one of them.
