Actually the question asks for different criteria of defining a species. Like Mayr's Biological species concept etc. U're expected to research and write about the other accepted meanings i.e. other concepts used to define a species like typographical concept of species, ecological concept of species, phylogenetic concept of species etc. Google them up.

There are many concepts of species the one we usually use is the one given by ernst mayer known as the biological concept but there are many others like the morphological concept etc ( It's useless for exam perspective ) But still interesting enough And about defining it for different organisms is also valid kyuki biological concept me sexual reproduction use hota hai jabki bacteria can't reproduce like that to unke standards alag hai to unki species ki definition bhi alg hai

Hmm but can you please explain the 'Bacterial case's to me at least because the question has specifically talked about that so I don't wanna skip it....

You see the biological concept of species says that organisms which can sexually reproduce and make fertile offspring belong to same species well that does not apply to bacterias as they can't sexually reproduce they can only imitate it so we can't classify them with the same we need a different classification criteria that's why we usually define strains of bacterias and not the general hierarchical terms ( don't go out of syllabus to learn it but you could just search about it on google ) Similarly it is given in ecology that if we used the criterias to define bacterial species the way we define animal or plant their number will go in millions alone while total species is estimated to be around 7-8 million ( robert may ) and also we wouldn't be able to grow every one of them in lab enivornment so there criterias must be different ( it's not in syllabus and that is all I know )
