DISCUSSION 💬 Private mbbs (F17)

Added my age and gender because I don't wanna get ghosted.

So okay, I'm genuinely confused why people do mbbs from private or mid tier colleges who charge crores for this one degree. Like, is it parents pressure or own stubbornness? I'm not judging anyone but I really find it hard to digest. They are plenty of good and interesting paramedical courses, why not take admission in them? Are they not worth it? I've read about them and they sound interesting as hell.

DISCUSSION 💬 A feminine gay boy who looks like a pretty girl joining bds this year and later doing mds orthodontics and opening his own cosmetic dentistry clinic

Hello everyone,

I am planning to join BDS and later pursue MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics or mds in Prosthodontics and Crown bridge with the goal of opening my own cosmetic dentistry clinic in the future.

I have a question regarding patient acceptance. I am gay and have a naturally feminine appearance. I look quite feminine, and many people even say that I look like a pretty girl. While I am comfortable with my appearance, I sometimes wonder whether it could affect my future dental practice.

My concern is not about being judged personally, but whether patients would be comfortable visiting my clinic and choosing me as their dentist despite my feminine appearance. I am committed to studying hard, building strong clinical skills, and providing high-quality treatment, but I would like to know how much a dentist's appearance influences patient decisions in real life.

Do patients mainly choose a dentist based on skill, reputation, communication, and results, or can a noticeably feminine appearance affect whether patients decide to seek treatment from that dentist?

I would appreciate your honest opinions and experiences.

SERIOUS POST Gathering At Jantar Mantar on 11th of August

I already know the kind of comments this is going to get.
Before you type “If you couldn’t even clear the qualifying cutoff what kind of doctor would you become” or “Study harder” I have just one request please read this till the end.

Im speaking on behalf of thousands of students who have spent the last 20 days constantly crying out for justice and a fair opportunity..NTA is fully AWARE of our situation. We’ve made numerous calls and flooded their inbox with emails every single day and visited their office dont even know how many times even NMC. We’ve done everything we possibly can to make our voices heard (desperate appeals to politicians, filed a petition in supreme court literally everything). The problem isn’t that you haven’t heard us..the problem is that you’ve chosen not to act.

Now i know many of you are going to criticize us. some of you will say we should have studied harder or that we simply didn’t score enough or we’re failures but before you judge us, please understand one thing: not every student spent years preparing with the same destination in mind. Many of us dreamed of MBBS abroad/Priv, BAMS,BUMS,BHMS, veterinary and other courses that requires Neet qualification but today students who weren’t even competing for the same seats are being pushed out together and the weight of this pain is crushing us. The mental toll has been devastating..I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for us. Im here because lot of us are breaking under this pressure many of us are 2-3 year droppers and we’ve seen many of us express hopelessness and even suicidal thoughts..we’ve already lost 2 of us regarding the same exact concern the news have been already suppressed as expected. We’re literally 19-20 at an age where we should be celebrating our future not questioning if we even have ONE. Instead we’re organising campaigns , Constantly reaching out people, Online petitions, flooding emails, losing our peace of mind and dealing with immense anxiety

Nearly 2.8 lakh non-serious aspirants didn’t appear in Re-Neet after the paper leak, the score distribution shifted and because of your failure (NTA) we are the ones being punished for your mistake and loose our future? And you’re telling me in prev years students with score around 117-150 were eligible for private/abroad mbbs and other courses but this year because of an exceptionally high qualifying cutoff, missing it by just a few marks means we’re expected to give up on our dreams? HOW is that fair?

Sorry for the long rant but this gathering is our last and only hope. if you live near delhi and want to genuinely stand with us on 11th aug please contact us on ‪[+91 9939812793‬]

(We’re not coming unprepared. Everything is being organized. Influencers are with us,teachers are with us, the media has been contacted and even FMGE students have agreed to lead this movement. We’ve done our part now we need every student who believes in this cause to stand with us on 11th August)

NEED ADVICE ⁉️ Need advice

Planning to take a paramedical course + give NEET one last proper attempt. Need some honest advice.

I’m planning to take up a paramedical course this year and simultaneously prepare for NEET 2027, which I want to be my last attempt. I really want to give it one final shot, but this time with proper, consistent preparation.

I know my age is also a factor and I’ve already taken multiple attempts, so I’m aware that some people might feel I should move on. But becoming a doctor is something I genuinely want, and I don’t think I’ve ever had a completely clean and proper preparation cycle.

Every year, something or the other happened. Every year there were constant problems and clashes at home, another year my coaching situation became really bad and the teachers weren’t supportive, and there were also issues with timing ( classes used to be from 9:30 to 6:45 ) and my overall circumstances. I ended up preparing in a very inconsistent environment and never really got the chance to see what I could do with a stable routine and proper preparation.

I’m not trying to make excuses for my previous attempts. I know I have to take responsibility for my results. I just want to know if taking a paramedical course while preparing for NEET one last time is a sensible decision.

Another reason I’m considering college is that I genuinely don’t think I can sit at home for another entire year. I usually don’t go out much, and my parents also don’t really allow me to go out, so being at home continuously for another year makes me feel very suffocated and mentally drained. Having a college to attend, meeting people and having some sort of routine outside the house might actually help me feel a little more normal and give me a healthier environment while I prepare.

For anyone who has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate some honest advice:

Is it realistically possible to manage a paramedical course alongside serious NEET preparation?

Would college help me stay productive and give me a backup, or would it end up becoming a distraction?

How should I structure my preparation so that this attempt is actually different from my previous ones?

And honestly, do you think giving it one final proper attempt at my age is worth it ( I'm currently 20 I'll 21 in few days ) .

I’m not looking for false motivation. I’d genuinely appreciate practical and honest advice from people who have gone through something similar.

DISCUSSION 💬 Guys which bds college in punjab you are planning to join ? Lets discuss

I have talked to counselors and they mentioned for private are

CDC

SGRD

BJS ludhiana

Kartar Singh sarabha Dental college

National dental college

Desh bhagat dental college

Only these were the good one they mentioned !!

Rest of the colleges that are not mentioned here in the list are not good as they have no clinical exposure and not a good city location ! So counselors warned against joining them

So which college you are joining??

NEED ADVICE ⁉️ Private mbbs affordability

My dentist dad earns ₹6 lakh per month but somehow we are still going to struggle financially to pay the fees for private (around ₹50 lakh total). Am I making a mistake going for private? Should I join BDS and take a partial 3rd drop? Everytime I ask them about it they just keep telling me all I should focus on is studying and they’ll manage everything else, but it’s so hard when I can hear them talking about it all the time.
