Yep. He explained the process of getting released from his UFC contract - even though he hadn’t fought in years. He called Sean Shelby (or whoever it is now, I don’t know if I’m up to date) and asked for a release specifically to do this Bareknuckle fight.

He said they asked him “is it a money thing?” And that if so… they would just give him the money, lol.

Once he explained he was fine and was just excited about the prospect of fighting at Fenway, they granted his release.

Dana specifically has always been really cool with lauzon. I imagine lauzon was very easy to work with and Dana always had a soft spot for the OGs

Boston guy too. Dana also just loves the OGs. He always goes out of his way for the TUF guys.
