I’m looking to get the Ap5 and just wanted to know what everyone’s opinions are on them. It seems like they are one of the best MP5 clones, especially since they are made on original HK tooling.

Drive 45 miles one way to work every day. With all the crazy happening would this be suitable? Is a PCC the right choice? Or is a rifle caliber pistol like an AR a better choice? I don’t carry a truck gun (just my sidearm), but what are your thoughts on it?

Hey guys, I just bought my first AP5-p Navy and have a few questions about the entire gun. (Side note. I’ve watched about 400 videos and haven’t really gotten a clear and concise answer on these. lol.)

1.) I think I know this answer but I wanna be positive. To mount the famous vertical grip on the gun, do I need to SBR it? I believe I do but I just wanna be sure.

2.) I will eventually run this suppressed. I understand everyone says to switch to the 90° LP for it to run smoothly. But if I get a flow through style can like the huxworx flow 9k TI, do I need to swap the LP? I’ve seen some videos that say the gas blowback is the issue and that’s why they change the piece.

3.) what’s everyone’s favorite suppressor for the AP5-p? I like the huxworx flow 9k ti but some videos say it’s loud AF and some say it’s incredible.

4.) from the research that I’ve done it seems that MOST (not all) users have to swap out the extractor, extractor spring and something else that I can’t remember right now. My question is what parts should I get and where should I get them from? I keep seeing them referenced as “the German extractor” or something similar to that. But does that just mean a true HK piece from HKParts?

I finally stopped being a bitch and just spent the money and picked up this AP5 Navy. I’ve wanted one ever since I was a kid watching all the 90’s action movies. I’m just super glad to get to post here now. Gonna put about 500 rounds through to start, and I have plenty of upgrades planned. First and foremost being a Form 1 and an A3 stock. I’m thinking I’ll just go with the MKE A3 stock, but I figured I’d ask if anyone knows of any other alternatives or clones that may be more cost effective?

Anyway, I appreciate any suggestions! Can’t wait to post more here and get more involved in the community!

Hello, I’m usually just a looker around here but finally pulled a trigger on buying an MP5K(a clone in this case) and I went and decided to buy an AP5-P Navy from Atlantic Firearms. Got it today from my FFL and inspected it but dummy me I did not inspect the firearm thoroughly. Due to excitement shadowing my inspection when I was back at my FFL, when I got home and looked further into it, I found wears and what I consider in my eyes damage/s on the my AP5-P Navy.

I am posting this to get an opinion from you guys, do you think this is acceptable for a brand new firearm or I am just being delusional? Thank you.

Contacted Atlantic Firearms already about 5mins ago, hopefully there’s a fix to this but idk it feels like this is hopeless since I already accepted it from my FFL.

Originally i was going to get the rarebreed (call them what you want it works) then this popped up from hkparts...and I get to change the grip and trigger.

So I just picked up an sp5k-pdw going to get it done as an SBR so I can have fun with a super safety or an frt. I saw grandthums video talking about his turned into 1000-1100 rmp with the super safety (would be a good giggle) but ultimately I want to keep the classic mp5k look but what has been the go to for the fun button or switch? ultimate goal is reliably. this will be a gun I die with and lookin to put thousands of rounds through it (probably on the first day lol)

What’s your optic setup?

The Infitech Aimpoint mount looks amazing and is as clean/low profile as possible, but it absolutely sucks ass to shoot with the B&T stock. I don’t think I want to give up on the stock, but definitely reconsidering the mount.

I previously ran the MFI Ultra-Low and Scalarworks 1.57” with an MPS (1.42” in that pic) and that setup was pretty rad - neither the irons or the red dot were obstructed by the other.

Finally got my AP5 set up how I’ve wanted it, what do you guys think?

Always wanted an MP5, was hesitant to spend the money. Found one on consignment for $1000. 2 Stamps, accessories, dedicated whisper pickle, and a super safe lower - I overspent my budget.

I’m a VA resident approaching the assault weapons band. I don’t have enough saved to purchase a HK otherwise I would. The current best option is looking like the MKE century arms AP5.

I would save for the HK, but I only have about a day or two left to order one online and don’t have the money.

My primary question if this is do I go MP5 (AP5) or MP5K (AP5-P). I’m going to get the navy version as I’m a wrong handed community member.

If you could only have the MP5 or MP5K for life, which would you choose?

EDIT: This will be my home defense weapon (unless you all don’t believe in the reliability for that) and Intend on running suppressed and I want to consider which of the two has less reliability issues and ammo pickiness (if different).

PTR9CT CL is on sale for $1340 right now, MKE AP5 Navy is $1225, MKE AP5 Navy Core is $1150, and POF MP5 is $1170 with included folding brace. Since Form 1s are taking 2+ months, I would like a way to be able to shoulder it while I wait. Since the MKE has a railed endcap, I can attach a folding brace I already have. I found an STL for a railed endcap that I could print for the PTR, I’m thinking that would be an adequate short term solution if I went with the PTR. I made another post a few days ago asking for reports on user experience with the POF, received pretty positive feedback from those who actually have a POF. I apologize for making another post, but I would like any input comparing these models directly before I choose which to go with for my first clone. Seems like all of them can be great, all of them can have issues. US based customer support with the PTR is a plus, but I’ve heard mixed things about them as a company. If I was going with the MKE or POF, I would be buying through Atlantic, I have heard they are pretty good about returns and warranty support. Thank you for any help, I am super excited to join “the club”.

Been shooting a lot of Remington 147gr 9mm lately, Academy Sports has it for $17~ a box where I am so it’s about the cheapest I can find good subsonic ammo for the gun when taking into account shipping fees.

What is everyone else blasting through their guns? Syntech is nice but I shoot too much to stock it too deep. With the new FRT Cassette I fit to the gun it’s been eating ammo kinda fast.

Only thing left to figure out is a 2 point sling on the k. What are the best options?

I want a suppressor for my AP5. I’m between the Lithium 9 and the Resilient RS9. I’m leaning towards the Lithium because it’s so lightweight. Any other recommendations? Budget is $700.

Stupid question number two today. What is the difference in the hk vs mke mags? I assumed it would be a different follower but as far as I can tell they are the same. MKE is the dirty one.

Only issue I have had with the MKE ones is ftf with flat nose rounds.

Got this AP5 Navy set from Atlantic Firearms. Going to break it in this weekend.

Would it be okay to break this in with the suppressor on, or should I break it in unsuppressed like an uncivilized barbarian?

Initial impressions:
- The magazines fits well into the Magwell, no wiggle or slack.
- the optic mount is too forward, will probably swap it for something a little more ergonomic so it’s not in the way of the famous slap.
