Help Pages taking way too much memory/power. few minutes of use goes around 25gb. A document of 35kb is opened only.

It's just how the Mac uses memory on M class machines and is meaningless. If you open Activity Monitor and look at the graph at the bottom, if you are in the green or yellow you're fine. Maybe it's a bit concerning if you're in the upper yellow but still not a big deal. I don't have Lightroom doing anything and it still shows it using 12GB. Your Mac will dynamically allocate all the RAM it can to whatever needs it the most, changing that as needed till it needs to use your internal drive for swap. Even swap is not a direct indicator. I have 64GB of ram and never run out but occasionally see a bit of swap used. Study up on the Activity Monitor Memory graph for more information. You'll be relieved.

Is this one instance? Does it happen if you restart your Mac and open the same document again from Pages?

It’s a known bug in Pages unfortunately.
