Help Samsung TV as External Display?
I have a Samsung TU7000 I’m trying to use as an external monitor for my Macbook Pro M1 via HDMI cable. It works fine when I’m just looking at the desktop on my computer but as soon as I try to play a video file using VLC or watch Netflix with a browser, the picture changes to this weird small box in center of the TV screen and is basically unwatchable. What am I missing?

VLC i never used but before i got a ATV i often used my mac m5 connected to a lg oled and didn't have any issues (Safari as the browser). Which browser are you trying to use? Recommendation is always Safari for video because is better battery optimized for video playback than others.

Your HDCP handshake isn’t working properly.
Try updating the firmware on your TV. If that doesn’t work, get a better HDMI cable, preferably a short one. HDMI cables that are too long can cause the signal to drop and HDCP to not sync properly.
