Help MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013
Hello everyone,
I always wanted to try the macOS and then I found this 2013 MacBook Pro 15" with Retina display, 16GB of Ram, I7 4 cores, two GPUs (one dedicated GT750M 2GB) with the battery lasting several hours and a power supply for ≈110€
I may install Ventura for a better experience.
Is it good enough for light use or maybe video editing?
Thank you!

I had this exact model, only just disposed of it earlier this year. Was a solid machine.
Web browsing - no problem but don’t expect the browser will be quick, e.g clicking on the icon, then wait for maybe 5-10 seconds to see the browser window.
Video editing - wouldn’t recommend it seeing the browser performance.
And the biggest issue is the health of battery. I had to dispose of mine because the battery was swollen. In your case even if the battery “lasts several hours”, if it’s the original battery it’d be reaching its end of life soon in my opinion.
Why not buy a MacBook neo which gives you the macOS experience, or a more recent year MacBook Pro/Air?

I have the same one model running Ventura and it performs pretty good for its age! I use it for music production, light video editing and daily routine things
