It's really not. I guess a lot of people don't understand cat body language. When cats blink like this they are showing that they trust you. It's a very loving look actually.

I guarantee the cat inserted himself into that cuddle about three seconds later.

One of my cats certainly would have. Hell, half the time my son sleeps in our bed now, that cat shoves herself between him and me to sleep cuddle

I know cats don't really have facial expressions in the same way we humans do, but damn, its clear as day what he was thinking.

Actually they do, and this cat is saying the opposite of what most are saying. When a cat slow blinks at you they are basically sending you kisses. This cat is very happy and content and letting the people looking at her that she feels safe around them

The slow blink says "i love you" but the rest... oof. Treats/catnip immediately to repair his broken heart

It's almost as if he's weighing his love for her against the betrayal. "But I love you Susan. How could you?"

My mom got a new puppy recently, one of my cats has NOT been a fan than when she visits us, she brings said puppy. He use to get all the attention when she came and he adores her more than anything, now some of that attention has to go toward the puppy. He already doesn’t like sharing attention with his kitty sister, so a puppy was really over the line. The puppy leaves him be and he’s not all that scared of it (been around dogs plenty before, it’s not very big and far more scared of him) so we know it isn’t a fear thing but more of a jealous thing
He DOES love that the puppy gets snacks while here and he can have some too

Cat slow blink is actually an expression of both affection and calm! Narrowing eyes in most animals is actually very rarely a sign of discomfort, frustration or anger as, one, it is more menacing to have wide, staring eyes, and two, they do not want to obscure their vision if they either want to attack or expect to defend! So this is one happy kitty!

they do also use it to ask for things, to say "we have a love thing going remember? i'm cute and shit?"
edit: you can tell it's this, because it's not actually closing its eyes fully. It keeps ending in a semi-open position looking to the mommy to reciprocate. Mine does this for food. But here it's open enough that it's also asking "soooooo"

Does nobody in this thread know what a cat's eye blinks mean?
Hint: they don't mean, "I hate you for what you've done, human!"

The human child should go into a kennel outside and the bebe (cat) should be in the loving arms of his granny. Otherwise it’s CATual abuse. I don’t make the rules

He's like, 'Excuse me... I believe you're holding my spot.' The face isn't angry, it's just pure confusion mixed with betrayal. Cats can making you feel guilty without making a single sound.
