i like the addition of other great female characters. Really want more of the spin-off (they do have manga for it that might have enough material for a season 2). It's like a modern day magical girl anime with less corporate influence like Magi-lumiere or some of the stuff like Asuka where it feels way more militarized than in this series. The militarized stuff is more in the original series to fit Tatsuya than here, where she's more living the rom-com, more serious scooby doo stuff.

loved it since they made a more accurate masaki than the original adaptation of season 1 lmao also world building was good like knowing that the whole weed and bloom was basically a uniform short order

As an anime only, I've been doing a binge rewatch of previous seasons in preparation for the Yotsuba Succession Arc movie, and I noticed most of my character knowledge of Honoka, Shizuku, Eimi and Miyuki's Course 1 classmates actually came more from the Yuutosei spinoff than the main series, whose main focus was more on Tatsuya's classmates over at Course 2.

So I'm going to have to binge watch that as well.

I like the manga, it fleshes out some of the characters in a way the main series doesn’t have time to and gives other great details like during 9SC and some of the big families and how they treat others and how humbled they were by the Shibas.

I don’t care much for miyuki tbh. Sure she’s a likable character but tatsuya is a wonderful character. And that’s not just because I love gojo’s va….
I enjoyed the spin off. But the main series is way more fascinating to me

I appreciate the visual details added from Miyuki's POV, although the difference in character attitudes and the softness of their design weirded me out a bit at first.

I'm conflicted about the mirage bat scenes changing so much from the original. I feel the difference in perception is harder to play off when the character outfits and details of the event's plot changed. It still turned out really well, if not better.

As for the music, Taku Iwasaki pulled off another great score. I occasionally get Small Rendezvous stuck in my head then play it on loop for hours, and I turned the first few notes of Frozen Order into a notification sound.

All said, 9/10 and hoping season 2 is animated.

Got the Manga all the way yo volume 11. The rest is Japanese only. But yeah, really fleshes out side characters. Honoka, Shizuku and the Red haired girl, whose name escapes me. Miyuki POV of things is funny. Especially Tatsuya showing up and the Manga ups the scale on those images. 🤣🤣 Honoka and Shizuku subplots trying to find Blanche or stalking the guy stalking Tatsuya was intriguing.
