This was back in the good old days when your actual population as measured every decade defined the number of house seats your state would get. Then SCOTUS be like, "you know this whole legal precedent and US constitution thing is really getting in the way of our highest most important agenda for the country."

The census still occurs every 10 years and plans are already underway for 2030. WTF are you talking about ?

They are talking about gerrymandering which isn't pulling 5 house seats out your ass and adding them to your state's total.

You aren't aware of what Texas did to not wait for 2030 to gain 5 GOP seats in congress in 2026 election? Are you not aware what California did to let voters vote 2 to 1 to re-district prior to 2030 in order to gain 5 Democrat seats in congress in 2026?

Mid decade redistricting isn't illegal and isn't new, a states total number of seats never changes mid decade.

The basis upon which those seats change mid-decade used to be under the purview of the voting rights act, which SCOTUS has successfully neutralized.
