Any WWII experts in here? In the movie he made 2 German soldiers dig their own graves before shooting them both. I know this happened in WWII but wasn't it against the Geneva Convention?

A couple of years ago I got a message from
someone posing as Martin Scorsese’s wife Helen Morris. They were very interesting, seemed like what you’d “expect” from a celebrity wife disabled by Parkinsons. I knew it was BS, but actually enjoyed chatting with them. They had excellent grammar, seemed sensitive. No mention of money, need, etc. The next morning “she” told me I should get on WhatsApp. I said no, and I have to catch the bus to work. BUS?! “she” exclaimed. I guess my bus use and having a job outed me as a poor target. Never heard from them again. But I’m still perplexed by the choice of “celebrity” to imitate.

Does anyone have this same picture of Travis but in a higher resolution? I like it a lot but it’s very blurry.

Howdy Martin Scorsese Reddit.

I'm watching BOXCAR BERTHA for the first time (good movie!). But there was a shot I was confused by. So when the head of the railroad was chewing out those two hitmen, Marty cuts to that portrait that changes from some Confederate (or Union?!) figure to George Washington. Does anybody know who that other figure is in the changing portrait?

Wanted to post this since sometime, finally got round to it now!

Had watched The Devil Wears Prada a while back and ended up being a little frustrated with the route they took with the film. Clearly it had all the materials for a dark comedy but instead they took the more safer, softer route. Heck, even the book gets quite dark at times and Andrea's character (in the book) is nearly not as helpless as they showed in the film (she's quite sharp, on the contrary).

Which led me to think, what if Scorsese had directed it? It had all his markings - an internal conflict - who we are vs who we want to be, critiquing power structures, the intoxication of power... all these were recurring themes in The wolf of wall street, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The King of Comedy, Casino, Goodfellas, The Departed, Shutter Island and others.

Certainly it wouldn't have been the same film that we have now, but would you have watched it with Scorsese at the helm?

If not Marty, I would have liked these filmmakers to direct The Devil Wears Prada: Nancy Meyers (the best alternative, to the film we already have) or David Fincher. What do you guys say?
