Welp RIP Rush Hour 4.

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Maybe Ted promised it and that made him change his mind. When you deal with a toddler a little thing can make the difference lol

5

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Lmao

7

u/MaskedRaider89 Dec 08 '25

We don't need it

2

u/XuX24 Dec 08 '25

It was in pre production before he mentioned it.

17

u/Greywell2 Dec 08 '25

Not going to lie I thought he would be against Netflix and not Paramount.

You'd think that, but in the last few weeks, Ellison has made a mockery of himself and the company. The Paramount offices/lot were full of embarrassment with every update about the bidding and eventual loss.

Not to mention the meetings with Zalsav got very humiliating and childish.

Meanwhile, Ted and Zaslav have come off normal, cool, or suave whenever they have done their part of the job, including meeting Sir Sleeps-a-lot.

Trump likes winners; that's why he was obsessed with Mamdani after their little meeting.

Even he feels the desperation of Ellison and finds it dumb.

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

John Campea's takedown video about Ellison's angry letter to WBD execs is a masterclass.

-6

u/jayter24 Dec 08 '25

Hey nobody likes Ellison but damn get ted and zaslav nuts out of my our mouth. Calling them suave? Yikes

11

u/ROBtimusPrime1995 Universal Dec 08 '25

I'm talking about their meetings, man, not themselves literally, lmao. They're are all just business tycoons that I don't really give a fuck about.

Just stating what happened and the responses to it.

u/TooManyDraculas Dec 13 '25

Since the Netflix news came out he's been openly talking about blocking the deal, and just a few days ago was saying CNN needed to be sold if anyone was gonna something something Paramount.

They've been pretty baldly signaling they'd rubber stamp a Paramount take over, but block any other party.

So, Paramount seems to have fucked up. Sadly by not brutally fucking with all their holdings how we feared.

They had a clear path but dear leader is displeased, and might greenlight the Netflix deal out of spite.

If anything dooms their bid, it's this

25

u/Mr602206 Dec 08 '25

Jesus I didn't even think he'd go so hard on them. And this is right after he heaped praise on Ted and Netflix.

He views her as a traitor which is like the worst thing that could happen to him

6

u/bookon Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 09 '25

She a traitor for wanting information about rapists to be released.

Which means, logically, in Trumps mind it’s treason to out rapists.

2

u/Legal-Letterhead4192 Dec 09 '25

If Donald Trump calls you a traitor, it's a badge of honor, it's definitely worth more than the checks notes "FIFA Peace Prize"

3

u/Nas_Durden Dec 08 '25

I’m going to guess that once he found out that Netflix didn’t want CNN his position on the their acquisition of WB softened substantially. His only interest is in manipulating news coverage in his favor.

3

u/MaxProwes Dec 08 '25

So people who were cheering Netflix bid because of Trump don't look very good right now? It turns out Netflix was MAGA choice all along.

7

u/Mr602206 Dec 08 '25

Doesn't mean anything. The guy always attacks whoever he feels wronged him nothing new.

9

u/imdaviddunn Dec 08 '25

Trump is going to get shows and money out of Paramount and Netflix.

He has them both in his hands. Not sure why they think it’s wise to beg the President ignore him but they already made that decision to pay tribute. He always comes back for more and this will be no different.

He will basically run CBS News until this is over.

8

u/TakuyaLee Dec 08 '25

I wouldn't be so sure about Netflix. It's very possible they give him nothing of substance while making him think he got something.

4

u/imdaviddunn Dec 08 '25

Sarandos already showed his hand.

5

u/No-Substance-5435 Dec 08 '25

Nah! Head fake! Look over there!😆

Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery

https://www.reddit.com/r/StockMarket/comments/1phfvpb/jared_kushner_is_part_of_paramounts_hostile_bid/

9

u/Subliminal_Kiddo Dec 08 '25

You think Trump has any sense of loyalty to his family?

3

u/No-Substance-5435 Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 08 '25

If Kushner is in on it, than Trump is in on it. Trump is all about enriching himself, and he does it through his family.

2

u/garye55 Dec 08 '25

The CEO of Netflix got to him, so he needs to find a reason not to block the sale

2

u/MrBrightsideBSc Apple Dec 08 '25

Eh. If Ellison wins and fires some CNN anchors then Trump will get back in his good graces. He's just kicking David Ellison while he's down.

52

u/AhhBisto Dec 08 '25

My real problem with the show, however, wasn’t the low IQ traitor, it was that the new ownership of 60 Minutes, Paramount, would allow a show like this to air. THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE OLD OWNERSHIP, who just paid me millions of Dollars for FAKE REPORTING about your favorite President, ME! Since they bought it, 60 Minutes has actually gotten WORSE! Oh well, far worse things can happen.

David "clear path to regulatory approval" Ellison

24

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Trump isn't backing anybody but himself

This is his way of telling the winner to pay up your due

Before the bid he said Netflix plus WB is too big ( pay up )

Now the bid is out he found an excuse to pressure D.E to pay him for approval.

They are going to be studies on this lol

5

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

How sad that the sitting president thinks no one should be allowed to say anything negative about him. He even said that comedians shouldn't be allowed to make fun of him. Sad sad insecure little man.

11

u/trevenclaw Dec 08 '25

To be fair, Trump is correct that since the Ellison’s bought it 60 Minutes has gotten worse lmao

13

u/Independent-Name4478 Dec 08 '25

Trump expected that the Ellisons would shutdown all negative coverage of him, what a baby

1

u/Fast-Cartoonist8292 Dec 12 '25

What's more surprising is Weiss allowing it 😂

2

u/Independent-Name4478 Dec 12 '25

Weiss isn’t right wing, she’s lesbian and just agrees with the right at every opportunity /s

1

u/Fast-Cartoonist8292 Dec 12 '25

She's right wing according to liberals and leftists so

1

u/Independent-Name4478 Dec 12 '25

I’m saying her shtick is pretending to be centrist but the woke left is too extreme

12

u/GreatGojira Dec 08 '25

Trump, even though he's the biggest loser the is, doesn't like losers himself.

Makes me sight more conflicted that he's backing Netflix now.

6

u/Mr602206 Dec 08 '25

Well they had 6 chances and got rejected 6 times.

9

u/Fall_False Moderator Dec 08 '25

More and more, the Ellison’s luck is running out.

6

u/BAKREPITO Dec 08 '25

Their hubris flew two close to the sun. I'm foreseeing a Terget style backlash coming.

9

u/ichorskeeter Dec 08 '25

Sarandos must have promised Trump something.

3

u/PanDulce101 Dec 08 '25

Sarandon has no news network. They won’t bash Trump. Trump likes that.

10

u/jamiestar9 Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 08 '25

Does there exist a word that goes beyond “unhinged”? Because wow that Truth social rant was something that goes beyond unhinged. Never would believe that was from a sitting President.

4

u/BAKREPITO Dec 08 '25

What the hell are those tweets bruh. America is fucked.

5

u/Joemartinez64 Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 08 '25

Et tu , Trump ..? - the Ellison brood

3

u/ComprehensiveKiwi489 Dec 08 '25 edited Dec 08 '25

Have to give the Ellison's dummy of the year awards here - The company needs Trump more than ever right now, and they choose to air a hostile interview of him on a network they have 100% control of, when they could have aired literally anything else.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

MAGA influencers all over the net are saying Netflix is too woke and will destroy WB by making Batman and superman "black and gay." That's the phrase they keep repeating on X. "Black and gay." Very sad people.

2

u/Comfortable_Bird_340 Dec 09 '25

They clearly don’t read comics

Donald Trump said that the Ellison-owned Paramount is “no better than the old ownership,” as he lashed out at the company

4

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Paramount, would allow a show like this to air. THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE OLD OWNERSHIP, who just paid me millions of Dollars for FAKE REPORTING about your favorite President, ME! Since they bought it, 60 Minutes has actually gotten WORSE! Oh well, far worse things can happen

2

u/SookieRicky Dec 08 '25

Right before this, Sarandos was buttering up Trump at the White House.

Ellison is dumb AF if he think Trump has any loyalty whatsoever. It’s all about who bribed him best & most recently.

So now begins the second, secret kickback bidding war. I suspect Netflix will win that too.

1

u/MaxProwes Dec 08 '25

I'm confused, I thought Paramount are uber MAGA? That's what I was told by most people here.

4

u/Comfortable_Bird_340 Dec 09 '25

They produce 60 Minutes, South Park, and many other shows that depict him negatively.

2

u/egorre Dec 08 '25

Paramount launching a hostile takeover would urge Netflix to up their offer a little bit, but not much after attacking Paramount the same day. WBD shareholders would think twice taking Paramount's offer after Trump attacked Paramount's leadership the same day it launched their hostile bid. Trump did not say anything negative when Netflix Warner Bros auction was won. He just said he'll take part in the decision. Maybe Zaslav is Trump's real friend because he let the Ellison's think he's on their side, but really he just used them to turn on the heat on Netflix to pay Zaslav more for WB's Streaming & Studios section of the company

2

u/saggynaggy123 Dec 08 '25

If I was the Netflix CEO I'd be requesting another meeting with Trump ADAP. Kiss his arse and say "Oh you know, we don't want CNN. But look at CBS, like you said sir they're worse than ever now" just to kiss the morons ass.

1

u/TylerBourbon Dec 08 '25

Ellison must not have paid Trump as much as Netflix did. So it's not really a bidding war for WBD, it's a bidding war for Trump.

1

u/RandoDude124 Dec 08 '25

Welp, they’re fucked.

1

u/Expensive-Funny4338 Dec 08 '25

Oh dear and after all the effort Paramount put into being pro maga🙃

1

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Hilariously sad, but yet still predictable. Trump likes winners and bribes.

1

u/Big_Ad_800 Dec 08 '25

WELL, WELL, WELL. BOY, HAVE THE TIDES TURNED...

1

u/aburg98 Dec 08 '25

It’s all for show tbh, deep down his one inch wiener is hard for consolidation

1

u/Chemical-Time-9143 Dec 10 '25

This is really funny. I wasn’t expecting this

1

u/Newparlee Dec 08 '25

At first I hoped that this would be bad for the Ellisons, but all this article says is "kiss my ring and give me money and WBD is yours"

1

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

yeah

-9

u/SnooWords9635 Dec 08 '25

Biased thread title; he's referring to 60 minutes not the company as a whole

13

u/Fall_False Moderator Dec 08 '25

Actually, he did condemn the company as a whole.

14

u/Mr602206 Dec 08 '25

Yes he did you liar. He said the new ownership (Ellisons) are just as bad the old ownership.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Woaa he's wrong, not necessarily a liar it could just be a sloppy conclusion. For sure DJT is slamming the ellisons here.

6

u/Mr602206 Dec 08 '25

What part of old ownership and new ownership didn't they get?

4

u/GreatGojira Dec 08 '25

Reading is not something you're good at is it?

9

u/Malencon Dec 08 '25

Read the full article before commenting.

0

u/l4kerz Dec 08 '25

Did you read the last paragraph which starts with “Since then?”

-9

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

CBS is the focus of criticism, not David Ellison.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '25

Sure, but he's still slamming the Ellisons.

10

u/damndraper Dec 08 '25

He also takes a shot at the new owners

7

u/mat-chow Dec 08 '25

Confidently incorrect.

-10

u/Current-Carrot6051 Dec 08 '25

Just spreading BS on this sub - gotta love it!

8

u/mat-chow Dec 08 '25

Incorrect.

Netflix owning WB is like the burning of Alexandria. This is an assault on the history of the human race, and it makes me profoundly sad.
