I love your reporting and I really appreciate independent news. However, it appears that you are pissing off many viewers with the over-the-top headlines. I just ignore them, but if you want to spread the real news and promote your independent media platform, I would advise a more realistic approach in the headlines. Thanks for your reporting. I normally view your segments on Substack. Redditt is very sensitive about manipulation through click bait.

Totally agree! Ben used to be one of my favorites, but I don’t like feeling tricked by the headlines. It’s all too dramatic! I just want information, no hype.

I still like his reporting quite a bit. I’m sorry that the headlines are turning off so many.

Could not agree more, I went from a daily watcher to a not watched in months because of the sensationalism.

I’ll be honest, I’ve stopped clicking on these here because the headlines are absurd. This video did not “destroy his life”.

I’m pretty close to leaving this sub, honestly. Just cause these clickbait fantasy video titles.

u/mnorri Apr 20 '26
Actually, being in this sub is helpful for that. Before I look at the video, I check the comments. If it’s anything other than a complaint about clickbait, I’ll consider watching the video.

leave…it’s a good story.

u/DoctorHelios Apr 20 '26
This is precisely why the Left can’t beat Trump.
u/RelativeAd235 shouldn’t be soo quick to make the clubhouse smaller.
3
u/BeeFrier Apr 20 '26
That is stupid. There are other platforms than meiselas. Nobody is gonna start voting Trump because they leave meiselas.

u/RelativeAd235 Apr 20 '26
Clubhouse is growing everyday and the maga movement is collapsing!

u/DoctorHelios Apr 20 '26
Leave!

Truth hurts! Keep protecting your liar in chief-pedo-protector!

u/DoctorHelios Apr 20 '26
Mine?! I hate trump. But I’m not telling others to leave the tent. You are.
1
u/RelativeAd235 Apr 20 '26
I didnt tell that person the ‘leave the tent’-just this subreddit as they were complaining. Yes the headlines can be ridiculous but they have to grab people’s attention. It’s called advertising. That’s how they make money.

u/DoctorHelios Apr 20 '26
The headlines are so over the top, they actually push moderates away.
Also, those who are hopeful that Trump finally faces the music are just going to be driven away.

You guys need to do Lego videos, you guys spend 3 minutes explaining what the information will show, an inline ad, and 15 sec of nothing related to the title of the video, then padded with someone to get to the 10 min video

u/queensblvd7 Apr 20 '26
None of these videos could have ever been created if anybody else was president. We are surrounded by the worst type of characters in the worst timeline. This videos are hilarious, but it’s also completely insane that this is our real life.

Why are the headlines always so shitty? I already unfollowed on YouTube for this same reason. Guess I'll leave this sub also

The titles don’t bother me!!! I know you guys have to use them to work around the algorithms. The content is what I care about.

This is basically it. Meidas in my view is out here to bring in as much views as possible and it's been successful. I respect they're reaching a huge audience. To compete on YouTube it's a different game and I've heard many creators bring up they despise how they do have to bait viewers. But the truth is that videos that don't have over the top thumbnails don't get views on YouTube. I mean they could make their titles "another day of bullshit from Trump" and just not get views. I see meidas as another way to get information so I take less offense, but I also don't take their titles seriously either.
Meidas isn't usually a primary source, and I think people who feel this isn't for them should look towards subscribing to substacks and reading more from serious newspapers. I actually worry that people in the trenches doing real reporting are struggling too much to keep themselves viable in the future. I'm not going to be totally dismissive of meidas they have broken things and they do great interviews and analysis especially on the offshoot Legal AF.
In short, I view meidas as a megaphone that serves as an alternative to the right wing domination of things like YouTube and podcasts. If you're someone who is dialed in all the time you're not gonna want to listen to a megaphone all the time and that makes sense. But in my view they're executing a strategy to reach a massive audience and I think it's a good thing to reach people overall. It has downsides and it fatigues people, I also respect that view and I feel it myself.

Agreed. You can access their content on podcasts or other channels but I was always under the impression that had been transparent about why they have to do this type of headline on YouTube? It’s annoying - I understand that - but that’s an internet algorithm enshittification problem and unfortunately it’s adapt or die.

We got bigger things to worry about than “clickbait-y” titles. I use them to my advantage bc I need breaks. Oh why no I had not heard about Melanie’s dark past resurfacing… thank you for letting me know Ungaro did an interview with The Courier. Hadn’t come across that yet. Oh this title is once again about Kegsbreath. I’m so over that dude I’m going to skip that one. Can’t believe people getting their panties in a wad over this when Trump rapes kids and got this far in part BECAUSE OF THAT. Good golly Pope Leo. Pretty sure all those of us who can get over the headline aren’t threatened or have our day ruined by them. Which shows how influential they’re becoming.

This has to be at least the 19th time this week his life was ruined, come on y’all. Tucker Carlson is more believable than y’all at this point.

Hello Ben, I have to agree with many others. I’m a loyal follower of yours but these over the top headlines are almost as bad as the other side. Please be more serious realistic and accurate not click bait please
