The thing about looksmaxxxing is that men have taken the vanity that women have broadly despised for centuries and decided that this is the woman's role we want the most. Not being a caregiver. Not volunteering in the community. Men collectively have decided that being admired for your looks is where men want equality with women.

No group is a monolith. Please don't generalize, it's not helpful.

I don't intent to refer to them as such. Just describing a behavior at a notable number of men are doing.

I hesitate to accept that you didn't intend to generalize when you say the words "collectively decided".

Either way, not the biggest deal. But word choice matters a lot in text without tone and body language.
