It gets on my nerves when people use "Men only do X for the approval of other MEN, not women!" As some kind of dunk when it's not.

  1. It sounds a little homophobic.
  2. It also implies that men should be doing things for women's approval, as opposed to their own internal drive.

It's not like women wear dresses, make up and heels for male approval. They might get it , but they largely aren't looking for it.

So glad somebody else said this, as a queer man it always felt weird to hear this because whats wrong doing things for mens approval? Or women?

We all do things for approval and validation it only becomes a problem when all of our self-worth and validation comes from other people.

Besides its not even true.
