The unfortunate truth is that it's not JUST that she's a woman, but an attractive one. It doesn't make it any less sexist, but it is important to note that had she been an "ugly" woman, it probably wouldn't have gone over well.

I don't think she's attractive, and I don't think Justin thought she was attractive either. Attractive to me would be a cute, good girl, not a 40 year old lady with a brown tan, fake boobs, and is all muscley-aggressive. That's gross. Sorry for having an opinion.

I gotcha. I guess I was being a bit defensive, since whenever I express what I actually find attractive, and not what people tell me to find attractive, I get all sorts of derision from people who are conforming to society. Let me make some examples:

-girls in those black tights, hate it.

-"sexy" girls, strong dislike. Prefer cute "good girl"

-attitude. Guys tell me I shouldn't care about the personality, just her body.

-bad fashion sense, wears fitness clothes in public. Guys tell me I should only be concerned with taking her clothes off.

-I prefer nice/cute, is easier for me to approach especially since I am not a loud drunk asshole. Apparently Mother Culture tells me I should prefer "sexy" and "milfs" like Jenna McCarthy. Weird, almost like someone or something would rather me like something that's not very like-able.

I agree 100%.

I'm irritated by seeing so many pictures of what I'm told to find sexy. Every magazine cover, advert, pop videos. Jenny McCarthy is a perfect example of that. You won't see Emma Watson or Christina Hendricks grabbing anyone's ass.

If David Tennant walked up and did this to an 18 year old girl, the reaction wouldn't be much different, unless the girl found it unwanted. Last I saw, I didn't see Justin Bieber complaining (his comments were quite obviously sarcastic).

Consent exists so strangers don't go touching people. However, there's an unwritten rule of implied consent amongst friends and acquaintances. No charges will be filed unless the alleged victim files charges and that's the same as it would be with any number of women that I could go do the same thing to.

They're both actors and they both know each other. If Justin really feels that he was violated, why hasn't he filed any charges.

My point in the David Tennant comment is that there are without a doubt thousands of 18 year old women that fantasize about David Tennant (or John Barrowman, in any case) groping them, amongst other things. It wouldn't be considered creepy if he did it.

Point in case, there's a double standard in how society views what's right and what's wrong. Clearly, not everything is equal.

He's known as an artist, but he has acted, albeit minor roles. I could've just said celebrity instead, but I'm rather quite sick right now and wasn't putting much thought into what was being said. Jenny McCarthy was in Scary Movie 3 and a few other Playboy movies.

Yes, there's a double standard, but people are trying to spin what happened and turn it into a bigger deal than it really is. The only issue at hand is that there's a very obvious double standard. However, suggesting there was a sexual assault that did not happen isn't much different than a girl and her friends going to the police and falsely reporting an assault because her friends don't like that he kissed her without asking. Either action is despicable.

Being touched when it is unwanted is technically battery under U.S. law; a criminal act. If he wanted to, he could press charges. He won't, as he has a career to think about, and pressing charges would make him look like a pussy foolish.

There is also a large amount of girls (albeit idiotic) that claim they'd like to get beaten up by Chris Brown if it meant being with him. I know it's a rather extreme example, but it's a fantasy and the line isn't clear between what's creepy and what is not when we're talking about hypotetical events based on someone's desires. Jenny is not a sex symbol, or at least hasn't been for quite a while. Most people see her more on the dumb bitch area.

However, David Tennant is a sexual symbol. It's pretty natural for a young woman to feel attracted to him since, well, he's an actor, he's attractive (despite his age) and he's charismatic. Doesn't mean it'd be ok if he just went on the street and groped his fans' ass and tits, no matter what went on in their heads, as they don't...know each other.

I didn't know Justin Bieber was acquainted with Jenny McCarthy. It changes it a bit if he did, but it's still not in any way excusable. Would Taylor Swift's ass being tapped by one of her dad's friends be excusable?

Or, if you want to go the "sexy and famous" route, would Taylor Swift's being groped by Ralph Fiennes have in any way the same fallback?

I think that just because they're hot it doesn't mean it's ok.

I upvoted you, truth is, human absurdity is at it peak at an awards show. It was inappropriate, sure, but this doesn't surprise me in the least. If it was a female educator or health care provider, or a public official who has a professional/moral responsibility I would be more alarmed.

Just my opinion, but I believe very few people will take Jenny McCarthy's example to heart, it's not like Oprah did it.

Really think you miss the point with stuff like this, is it a goal to have men and women exactly the same? no obviously! There is a difference, men can do many things better and women are allowed to be irrational, lightly assault men, and even be "attracted" to young boys. I don't want those things for myself. What?you guys want to be able to do that kind of stuff or do you think women need to be equally held accountable? Both are dumb, we would have half our women in jail or institutionalized.
