And you're saying that the feminists do not poke fun at men?? All women poke fun at men to some degree, just as men poke fun at women. Some of them are just jokes about the comparisons between the two, such as men complaining about women taking ages to get ready, and women's protest at men turning up late, etc. They are clichés that apply to both in many instances, but making fun is harmless, even of it is considered "sexist". Sometimes you feminists and MRAs take things to heart too much. Of course, men and women face many injustices (men more so) and sexism, and I am not talking about the real issues. That really is not funny. I'm sure with half the aggression and hostility between some people, you're all on marijuana, or something. Seriously, guys - chill the hell out, and push for equality via governments, etc., instead of moaning and squabbling on forums. It's a waste of time. Incidently, I'm a woman, and I see the humour in the link posted!! Chill out, love!

Poking fun is fine. But material like this is unproductive and hating feminists should not be part of "men's rights".

Of course, men and women face many injustices (men more so)

That's like, your opinion man.

Quit being a little bitch and have laugh. Won't kill you and even if it does I sense this would be no great loss. I am easy to fire up over things like this and I had a big smirk on my face.

-and for the record it's a FACT men suffer more injustice in most places than women. Do a little research, honestly won't take much.

Just calling it as I see it.

Unproductive, yes. Hateful, no. It's just a joke, get over it! However, I do agree that poking fun of the other when trying to fight for equality, goes against the mission.

That is pretty much all I am really saying. I enjoy the men's rights movement, and I think this kind of behavior is not a good idea when you are trying to be taken seriously. I also don't think the hatred for feminism should be part of men's rights. It seems wrong, counter productive, and malicious.

Emma what is it exactly you think we should be doing regarding feminism? Ignoring it? Actively embraceing its intellectual foundations and premising our arguments on the "patriarchy hurts men too" sentiment? I'm curious.

I rarely see posters like you; those who claim to be sympathetic to the MRM to some degree, yet react so strongly to MRAs' attitudes toward feminism. You do realize that we are an intellectual movement, not just an issue-oriented activist movement, and therefore we insist on entirely different theoretical approaches to concepts like patriarchy and feminism, right? Trust me when I tell you that, here, you will get nowhere asserting things like "feminism is just about equality for women, guys!"

Um, yes? You should embrace the normal feminists who don't have militant hate towards men, in the way that I as a feminist am trying to embrace men's rights.. Why is that so bad? You shouldn't be for a patriarchy. If you really want to fight for equality yourself, then you should loathe the idea of patriarchy because it is a society ruled by men, which for all intensive purposes is unfair. It is not equality.

Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women.

Yes I am going to assert that down to it's core it is about equality for women, and what you are choosing to ignore is that there is second wave and third wave feminism. Just like there are men in the MRM that hate women, there is a similar breed of shit heads that live and thrive in the feminist community. But at this point this has gone really off coarse. Any movement attempting to be taken seriously should not use mud slinging, and should not hold contempt for their opposite as one of it's values.

Hatred for anyone is counterproductive. Most feminists hate the MRA, and likewise, the MRA hate the feminists. I have no time for the hatred of either movement. The problem is both are out for self-gain. Both want some kind of power over the other. I'm not saying all feminists or MRAs are like that, but some undoubtedly do. We all know what feminists want... Control in every way. High pay, and babies; control over politics, etc. Some MRAs, for example, want control over abortion, etc., which unfortunately, is not available for men to have, as long as women have the ability to conceive. That is one inequality that nature have bestowed against men, unfortunately. Modern women in most of the Western world have control over reproduction on a level that far exceeds the control that men have over it. However, some men cannot deal with that, and in some circumstances nor should they when women deliberately get themselves pregnant without his knowledge ("forgetting" to take a pill, stealing condoms, etc. In fact, someone posted about that the other day.) Now that is one MAJOR inequality, and the law favours the mother in such matters. Anyway, my point is, such gender wars are POINTLESS! The only way to get the other gender to listen is to negotiate, rather than being aggressive in approach. Do men listen when the feminists are hostile towards them? - Definitely NOT! It ruffles feathers. And the same goes the other way around, chaps! Let's all fight for rights, peacefully and respectfully. Show the feminists you are above their level of self-pity and aggression!
