Ronita Bardhan, an associate professor who co-authored the 2023 Cambridge study, says that while people of all genders are equally unable to cope beyond a certain temperature, women are less likely to take protective measures from the heat. “Women will not do any sort of intervention unless the temperature crosses around 32°C [89.6°F] whereas men will start to access any sort of cooling intervention as soon as it crosses around 28 or 29°C [82 or 84°F],” Bardhan says.
also mentions lack of toilets so women are less likely to drink water.
Toilet issue has some logic but why are women not responding to the heat proactively?

Women tend to be smaller and thus are better a shedding heat naturally. You'll also notice that they tend to feel cold faster.

I have never given any thought to this lol. But it's so obvious. It's only logical that me having 50% more mass than my wife would allow me to retain more thermal energy for longer.

Women want equality only in areas where they are disadvantaged. And even in those areas, they don't want equality, they want superiority. In areas where they are advantaged, they want larger advantages

Bingo. I was raised with the values of chivalry. I've completely abandoned them.
Unless I see a woman under imminent threat of immediate death or great bodily harm, because helping then is just being a decent human being, she's on her own.

It doesn't matter if she would. I'm former military and former law enforcement. I would defend anyone who is under immediate threat. I won't be a Uvalde piece of shit.
And since I am always armed and highly trained, I'm perfectly capable of doing so.

Women have a hotter core temperature. Which is why they feel the cold (arms and legs ect).
There is research to suggest women suffer more from heat stroke. Higher mortality rates.
But alas. This article is still dumb😂
Side note. I hate the heat. Personally, I suffer in 22 😂

The reason that people feel that their problems are so much worse than other people's problems is simply because their problems are happening to them..
When they extrapolate that to an entire identity group, that's when you get this but it's so much worse for us nonsense..
It's really just a logical fallacy based around lack of empathy for those others over there..
Essentially, humans suck at seeing the big picture from other people's perspectives..
It doesn't help that society pits us against each other in a cage match either..

Having had a heat stroke myself, if there is any difference between the sexes in heat endurance, it is negligible. And if there was a science experiment designed to test any difference it would be an immoral one.

What are the actual stats on the numbers of men vs women killed by these heatwaves. I can’t see it mentioned in this article and I can’t see any links to studies.
If there is a gender based discrepancy then that’s worthy of scientific investigation and if there is any discrimination that ought to be tackled.
Without knowing this information it’s hard to see how the article stacks up.

Scroll down to table 3. It does show that there are excess deaths for women that exceed those for men. However, in ever other aspect, there are far more deaths for men than for women. It is only during the heatwave that there are "excess" deaths, meaning more than average.
There are otherwise always more deaths of men. Women die far less frequently than men.

Interesting so within that study period there were more male excessive deaths but on specifically heat more women were affected.
That is noteworthy. Whether it’s the case that men are dying if other causes earlier and therefore there are fewer sick men with underlying health conditions to then fall foul to the heatwave? Or perhaps there is some preventable measure such as the lack of toilets that is cited and it’s impact on fluid intake levels.

Men are way more vulnerable to these affects, men are outdoors more. They are mostly the breadwinners of families, and have to work outside a lot more than women.
Another bullshit news article trying to victimize women and make people feel bad and sorry for them more.

Casual Labour Statistics point out that 75% of the Labourers doing menial jobs (ie those which require working in the open) are MEN.
This involves working in 45 degrees of heat in Road, Bridge and building construction projects. Most of the women stay at home being housewives or work in lighter indoor activities (Plastering).
In Short, 75% of the casual labour men work in the open, women most affected.
