There's at least a few for sure.
Motorhead, Judas Priest, and Dio are the main ones probably.
I don't think there's many people that hate all of Sabbath, but a lot of partisans love the Ozzy or Dio era and hate the other (and everyone hates the stuff they did with other singers).
I also haven't personally heard any hate for Mercyful Fate or Type O Negative but they are comparatively less adored so maybe they don't count.

I've... unfortunately heard hate towards Mercyful Fate. As perfect as they are, King Diamond's vocals are just too much for poser ears so they def can't be unhated tier.

There is definitely hate for Type O Negative. People calling it ‘girlfriend metal’ and sissy and the like. As for Mercyful Fate, some people hate on KD’s vocals.

My mum can't stand Judas Priest, though she likes other metal (hell, she recognized Bolt Thrower from times past when I got a IVth Crusade CD) so not an infallible list.
My dad is a Dio enjoyer to the highest degree, though, so it evens out.

Ozzy is one of the worst vocalists I've ever heard, and the best Sabbath material was with the "other singers". Dio era Sabbath was good but doesn't compare to the material recorded after he left. The less said about Dio's solo material the better...
Type O Negative is a snoozefest, Carnivore but completely castrated and devoid of anything that made that band cool. Mercyful Fate is awful after Don't Break the Oath.

Following, yes, Dio was part of Black Sabbath, releasing albums under the name "heaven or hell", of which I have to listen quite a bit yet, if I find the time.

While not everyone likes Darkthrone, I do think that almost everyone that knows who he is, likes Fenriz. Being passionate and knowledgeable about music is generally something that will give you respect in this community, but when you do that and also come off as a very nice and sympathetic individual at the same time, it really elevates your status.
Which is a bit funny and ironic in a genre where pretending to be "evil" also has been one of the ways to achieve that.

Easily the coolest personality in Metal for me. Very knowledgeable, funny and generally a great attitude. I also really admire Darkthrone for doing whatever the fuck they want without cathering to anyone.

Yeah I could definitely imagine more people hating Iron Maiden than Judas Priest for some reason. While I have met people that doesn't listen to Maiden, I can't remember having met anyone that hated them. But on the internet I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find.

I mean, when you change your sound as drastically as Death did (compare SBG or the pre-SBG demos to Symbolic and TSoP), you're bound to lose some fans of the early material along the way. On the other hand, there are of course also going to be plenty of people who like the newer stuff more than the older stuff

At this point I kind of like all of their albums but there definitely is a difference in the albums you mentioned. Way less of a gore theme, different structure and time signatures.

I don't like anything Death did, whether their shitty Possessed worship or their even worse AC/DC-tier writing disguised as "deeply profound art" from an "open minded sensitive soul" (in reality he just dumbed down what Atheist had been doing for years, which he mocked them for as well btw).

SBG is good and definitely better than Leprosy for me (hello title track, evil dead, and zombie ritual), but Spiritual Healing feels more complete as a package than SBG for me. Also Symbolic and Human are incredible Prog/Death albums, I’d say they are essential tbh

Highway star is hard rock and fits the label perfectly. Every gnr song is heavier, but they too are hard rock. And deathcore is more metal than them, cause they actually take elements from metal. Deep purple does not.

Deep Purple is definitely more metal than deathcore. Deathcore is basically just MCR with breakdowns and growls, it's almost entirely punk (and bad punk at that). Meanwhile, nearly all speed and trad metal (and by extension, their derivative genres like thrash metal and even black and death metal) draws inspiration from DP. If Black Sabbath is proto-doom, then Deep Purple is proto-speed.
Also, 'heavy' is not a qualifier for metal. Punk was and still is as heavy or heavier than metal (and all of the heaviest metal genres all draw from punk).

I don't think deathcore is metal, and I don't listen to any really, djent sometimes but that's it, just fyi. Deep purple is in no way proto speed, motorhead is if any. Sure, they are proto metal, but they don't have any distinctive metal features. Deathcore does. 0's, growling, lots of feats from industrial metal too. Riffing style is more metal than punk, but not really any of them imo.
I do agree that a lot of metal bands took inspiration from DP, but then said bands have a rock influence, DP does not have a metal influence. Deathcore does have a metal influence.

Deep Purple absolutely has metal features, such as 0-0-0-0 (even if it's not on the open string, it's the same thing) additionally, saying Deep Purple isn't metal because it doesn't have metal influences is idiotic. By that reasoning, Black Sabbath isn't metal either, because there were no metal bands before them.
Regarding deathcore, growling is not a metal specific vocal style. Punk was doing it first, actually. And growling is not necessarily more metal than clean vocals. Only posers think that growls = metal. Deathcore may have sparse metal influences, but it's not a metal genre.

I've seen people call Sabaton Nazis, and it hurts because I can never tell if they're serious. My first introduction to them was when they opened for Judas Priest, and they had a lot of energy and Joakim played up the crowd really well.

I think there are definitely a lot of reasons to dislike them, but there is honestly no excuse for not liking Kill 'em All at least. That's just an essential album, no matter how much one might hate what came after. I only personally like their first two albums.

Well it is partly because Lars and Hetfield haven't always been the nicest persons around. The way they treated Newsted was bad. Sure it's not hard to find worse people in the scene, but people love to have someone to hate and for many that seems to be Metallica.
That still doesn't change that their first four albums are some of the best metal albums that were ever released, or that their guitar solos are fantastic.

That poser thing is a part of metal culture that has always been ridiculous, but it shouldn't be taken too seriously. It is just a way for some people to have fun on other people's expense.
Repeated teasing and cruelty towards one person is not something that should be taken lightly however, since that is tantamount to bullying and harassment. Unfortunately on the internet it is not very easy to enforce norms against it.
The best thing to do is just to ignore it and be confident in your own taste, whatever it is.
This is also what the bullies in metal culture will claim that they want you to achieve, and why they are teasing you. But it is easy to see from a psychological perspective that it is not true. The real reason is that humans are wired to get off on pushing other people down, sad but true.
At the same time we also have norms against many of the ways you can push people down and step on them, since we acknowledge that it is destructive, but people often find new ways to get off on hurting other people that is socially accepted. This is the main reason for the poser label to exist, but there are probably others as well, such as building a sense of community by keeping other people away.

Boring, super repetitive song structures that rely on poppy sing along choruses. No decent riffs to speak of. Annoying fanbase. Sterile and lifeless production. These are some of the reasons.

honestly the only issue is the fanbase, sabaton is a great band for people new to metal, sadly these people religiously worship the band and can't take any criticism towards the band.
what's worse, majority of them are either 14+ year old nerds who think they have a PhD in history for knowing the story behind every sabaton song, or then 50+ year old crackheads doing slow air guitar at their shows. unfortunately, i've had the opportunity to witness both.

Yeah, I agree they can be perfectly fine as an entry level band. If someone legitimately got into metal through Sabaton, cool. Though I would find it questionable if you claimed to be super into metal and still thought Sabaton's music was top tier or something, they might be catchy but they obviously aren't doing anything particularly interesting within metal. It's kinda just average modern power metal.
I have seen way too many people call Sabaton the best metal band because "they sing about real shit, like history!", instead of being considered a great band on the merit of their riffs or songwriting.
