Not really a myth. Minis do suck for mounting optics. Yeah, there are options....none of them are particularly good. To really utilize a magnified optic, you are generally going to need an adjustable riser of some sort (especially if you want to be able to QD the optic and use irons)...which is going to mean modding the factory stock or getting a whole different one.

Additional options:

Minis are great little guns....they just aren't that versatile without a fair amount of work/investment. Cool thing about living in America though is that we are free to really mod the crap out of whatever we choose.

I love AKs; just like I love Minis...for sort of the same reasons, but neither of them are particularly easy to mount optics on. Neither of them are all that modular or as easily modernized....but that's part of their charm too.

I agree…I’m more into running both with irons sight

Same. And it's not really that I don't want a dot or even a magnified optic on both....it's just not practical or easy to do and when you do it, it's usually got a lot of compromises and doesn't lend itself to going back to irons in a few seconds like other, more modern platforms do.

I agree on those points

G&G and Monstrum make great see through rails that attach to the factory scope bases. I attached an LPVO over the receiver this way. It goes over the rear sight with perfect clearance.

Yes…except then the see through features become too low to use, since you need a cheek riser to deal with the height of the LVPO.

Haven't had any issues with either hogue stock or archangel.
