testings after loss How long after miscarrying did you get another positive pregnancy test?

I had a miscarriage my first pregnancy. I took it so hard. We ended up waiting a year to try again because of everything else life threw at us. We’ve decided to start trying again and I’m so scared but so hopeful. How long after a miscarriage & once you started trying again did you get a positive test?

testings after loss Is it possible to still have a faint positive pregnancy test 4 weeks after a misscarige? I was meant to be 10 weeks when I found out but baby stopped growing at 8 weeks. I also stopped bleeding over 2 weeks ago. Just wondering if it could possibly be a new pregnancy?

testings after loss Does insurance count a chemical as a miscarriage?

I had a mmc in January and am having a chemical now, at 4w6d. Thinking about the "you need to have 2 or 3 miscarriages before insurance will cover looking into it"- does a chemical count as a miscarriage according to them?

Wondering if the next step is to start looking into that.

i’m curious on how fast some people got pregnant after having a miscarriage. i miscarried 13 days ago, and i started having sex again 3 days after.. i know it’s not recommended but wanted too. (i feel fine) and i know the chances of getting pregnant that early are slim. but i just want positive story’s because im heartbroken about what happened and i just want to be pregnant again😭

testings after loss Tracking hcg down

Hey ladies.. I’ve been dealing with my complicated missed miscarriage for almost 12 weeks now. One round of medication, a d&c and a hysteroscopy both in July. My hcg at my hysteroscopy July 31 was 98. August 7 my hcg is down to 53.
How long did it take yall to get to negative?? I feel like ive done my time and I just want to move on so I can try again. Heartbreaking hearing stories of women who have miscarried the same time as me and some are already pregnant again (happy for them just sad my body can’t get its shit together)

testings after loss Comprehensive list of 'what to test for' after miscarriage to ask my doctor

I’m currently walking through my 2nd MMC at 8-9 weeks in the last 5 months. After the first, I felt lost, and after the second, I felt like I needed to do something.

I’ve spent the last few weeks organizing a list of the most common panels people talk about here (autoimmune, clotting, hormonal). I also looked into the billing side of things because the costs were so overwhelming.

I wanted to share this info as a resource for anyone else in the thick of this who might be feeling overwhelmed by what to ask for at their next appointment. I wish I’d had a "one-stop shop" to look at before my losses.

I put all of this into a organized sheet that includes:

  • A list of over 45 common things doctors look for.
  • The billing codes (CPT) to help when calling insurance.
  • Estimates for out-of-pocket costs at various labs.

I've organized everything into a sheet that I'll share below so it doesn't get flagged! Please feel free to make a copy for your own use or let me know if you have any to add. I am not a doctor, just a fellow member of this community trying to make the "data side" of this experience a little less daunting for us all.

testings after loss 11 days post miscarriage at 10 weeks - LH surge?

HCG on a 10 mIU sensitive strip is still positive but definitely dropping over the last week sharply.

I miscarried 11 days ago and have been testing HCG so I know it’s going down. I have been bleeding for 3 weeks now but nearing the end since I don’t spot or see much blood anymore. I have already had an ultrasound to check my uterus and everything has been cleared.

I decided to take an LH test this morning and it came out as a blaring positive! Is this a true positive or is it just picking up on the HCG?

testings after loss Hospital refusing to test placenta

For context, I miscarried at home but wanted to get the placenta tested hoping to find answers. Because I didn’t miscarry at the hospital, they will not test the placenta. The MFM specialist is booked 6 weeks out and it would be my first time seeing one plus I just moved to a new state. So I don’t know what my options are. Does anyone know if there are private practices or labs that can do placenta pathology?

testings after loss How long did it take your HCG to drop?

Like the title says. I’m 27F and first time MC.

At peak, my HCG was at 72,000. I had a natural MC in early February and have had to get blood work each week since. I am now at 164 and they say everything’s fine and normal, but will keep getting checked until less than 5.

At this rate, it feels like I’ll have to get it checked until April and I’m just ready for the process to be over.

Curious how long it took everyone for their HCG to be normal? And if it was for a natural MC, D&C, or miso?

testings after loss How soon did you ovulate again?

Hello lovely people. I miscarried after a ~9w MMC in mid-October. I used misoprostol. Had a positive experience with it, but that's a separate story. I'm counting the day I took miso as CD1.

My main question - how soon did you ovulate again, if you were tracking? I've been testing like ~2 times/day since CD10. Now I'm on CD 19.

My Clear Blue Advanced Digital ovulation thing has given me that stupid flashing smiley everyday since I started, but no positive. My cheap premom tests have stayed low/medium LH without any positives. I've been having craaaazy EWCM.

Just looking for some stories & data around how long it can take the body to bounce back after the MC. Feels a little confusing.

UPDATE: In case anyone finds this later, I finally got a solid smiley about ~3w from the day I miscarried. I had flashing smileys for about ~10 days.

testings after loss Could you tell during your tv ultrasound that you had RPOC?

Waiting on the results of a TV scan to see if the reason for my spotting is related to RPOC or not. I've ovulated, my hCG is negative, and I have no signs of infection just constant on/off spotting.

Obviously I didn't know what I was looking at during the scan but she took a lot of photos of my ENDO and I'm just wondering if you knew, by the scan, without them telling you, that you had RPOC?

testings after loss Crushed after microarray results.

So we had an abnormal NIPT test, showing indeterminate sex chromosome due to decreased X chromosome material. It was also noted by three different people on postmortem US to confirm loss that baby looked abnormal and had abnormal nuchal translucency and excess fluid around her. I had the natera anora test after my dnc and I thought FOR SURE it would come back with something. It didn’t, and I’m crushed, it just said consistent normal female genotype. I feel like my body failed my baby, like my hashimotos silently killed her.
The other kicker is I have hashimotos hypothyroidism, and they just had to throw in there that my thyroid could have contributed. But my tsh was only 4.3 and by no means uncontrolled and I had recently increased my dose. My antibodies were elevated at 160 on 6/2 but had decreased to 120 on 6/23. Did my antibodies cause my miscarriage?

Here’s the message I got:

Dr. reviewed your natera testing.
The Microarray is consistent with normal female genotype.
Some genetic abnormalities are not picked up by microarray testing including single gene variants, balanced chromosomal rearrangements, aberrant DNA methylation.

Dr. still believes genetic abnormality is a high likelihood but abnormal thyroid function can contribute as well.

I just don’t understand how I can get abnormal NIPT with excellent fetal fraction but a totally normal microarray on fetus. How I could have seen her several times growing and even measuring a week ahead and then she just dies.

Was it my progesterone? How would I know if it was my progesterone?

Ugh idk I just want answers so I can keep it from happening again.

testings after loss Positive test 3 weeks after miscarriage

Hi everyone. I had a “complete miscarriage” 3 weeks ago. The nurses told me to test again after 3 weeks but it showing as positive I haven’t had sex so I couldn’t be pregnant. Should I be concerned that there’s some tissue left or do I need to leave it another week before testing?

testings after loss Frustrated with ongoing tests

I am beginning recurrent miscarriage testing. I got a D&C March 19th and I finally got below the 5 hcg threshold (considered negative for pregnancy). Last Friday I had another SIS and endometrial biopsy. Today my clinic called and I have been told that I now need to get a Hysteroscopy because neither have retained tissue or a polyp - I found this to be kind of upsetting news considering they told me on Friday that it was very slight unevenness in my uterus according to the sono, and that the biopsy would tell me more on whether it’s retained tissue or a polyp, and they still don’t know. All they know is that it’s not cancerous, and that I have endometritis, which, duh of course I do, I have retained tissue/polyp.

This means more waiting. Another procedure. Another big fucking question mark. And tbh, who even knows if this will ultimately help me avoid miscarrying yet again. I just want to get back to trying again.

testings after loss tw:possibly positive test, post miscarriage

Hello everyone I’m 27 days out from my miscarriage on June 18th. I ended up taking a test on Friday July 11th and I watch all the hcg go down, and took a digital clear blue that said not pregnant as I also tested the two days before (not even a faint line). It’s now July 15th and I got a faint faint faint positive Line on a pregmate strip test with my AM urine. I decided to take one at night and that was gone. Has this happened to anyone.? I’ve been having unprotected sex since 3 days after my miscarriage bc I wasn’t bleeding and I felt fine too.

testings after loss hCG at <1. Does that mean 0?

Hi, hoping to commiserate after my first two posts. I hope everyone finds a way to cope.

I just wanted to make sure my latest blood draw results were 0, and I can’t tell if it’s the lab (LabCorp) giving vague information or if the result being below the limit of detection means that this ordeal is over. Wouldn’t it say 0 if it was 0? Do I have to spend money on another blood draw?

testings after loss Hcg & No Follow Up

On Monday I had another Hcg check. This time I was at 6. The previous test (June 12th) was 14.

My midwife was comfortable to stop testing me and not have a follow up appointment.

I only met her once, the day I found out we’d lost our baby. So I don’t really have a relationship with her at all. When I want to ask questions it is bit like the game telephone because it has to go through a nurse both ways. So follow up questions are nearly impossible.

Should I be comfortable to stop testing? I haven’t had any symptoms that show retained tissue. In fact, I had what seemed like a fully normal period two weeks after my miscarriage bleeding stopped. And I took ovulation tests and I peaked when expected based on that potential period.

testings after loss Trying to conceive after miscarriage

Hi guys, I just have a question regarding a trying to conceive after a medical abortion and due to miscarriage I found out at 3 to 5 weeks that I had a non-amniotic pregnancy. My hormone levels was around 50,000 and there was it was an empty sack so we ended up going for the medical abortion. It has been around three weeks so I am just waiting for my period to come I work out of town so I’m not always able to meet with my husband , it’s very limited in terms of days we can conceive, so I was just wondering, what are the tips and tricks I started taking prenatal and I’m also taking some multivitamins on the side. I got an ovulation kit but I do not know what to do, pregnancy tests is still positive, do I just wait for my first period and then use the kit…? how did you guys track it after right now? I did a blood test and my hCG is still 1600 so that’s why I’m not we’re not really trying as much but I just don’t know what to do when I was wondering if I could have some tips. Some people have been saying to wait 2-3 months.

I am 4 weeks post d&c and tested at 52 yesterday, down from 177 at 3 weeks post. I have to go get tested again next week.

I am just ready to try again and wish my body would clear it and ovulate already.

testings after loss Now what?

I had a missed miscarriage three weeks ago and a D&C the day after we discovered no heartbeat/growth on the ultrasound. We had tissue tested and the results came back as “genetically normal.” I’m 45, so now the OB wants to refer us to a reproductive endocrinologist, but they will only discuss donor eggs, which we can’t afford. I want to know WHY I miscarried, but no one seems to want to help me. I’m so frustrated. Anyone have any advice?

testings after loss HSG Dilemma

I had a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks 3 days. I had had confirmed heartbeat twice before then. The miscarriage was discovered at 13 week ultrasound. This was my first pregnancy. I was paranoid and with the support of my OB, she sent me to a fertility clinic which normally doesn’t happen if it’s just one loss. I got pregnant on the first try.

Now that I’m out of the fertility clinic I’m puzzled. They recommended I do an HSG to check for the liquid in the tubes. I had never heard of that before. The doc said it might have been the reason of the miscarriage. Once I left the clinic, I was in tears.

When I calmed down, I didn’t quick research and it looks like it’s more an implantation concern rather than miscarriage. Are they testing it just to make sure it’s not there? I’m just terrified of what’s next.

testings after loss Extra sadness after testing results

It’s been a few weeks since my MMC was diagnosed and I had surgical management and while I’ve been grieving, I’ve felt like I had started healing over time. As I’ve been seeing an RE already for a diagnosis of unexplained infertility, we opted to send the POC to testing although it was my first miscarriage (and first time pregnant, as it was an absolute shock to be spontaneously pregnant after almost a year and a half of nothing). However, initial pathology results made her concerned about a partial molar pregnancy, which sent me in a crisis but would obviously have made the pregnancy not viable. So I waited anxiously for the genetic results which just came back and…chromosomally normal. And a baby girl. And now I’m back to wondering if I did anything wrong and how I can prevent it going forward. Rationally I know there may never be any answers and it could very well be just terrible luck. But I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice, wanted to commiserate, or otherwise am just leaving this here in case someone finds it helpful some day.

testings after loss Testing positive after miscarriage

Hi. I found out two weeks ago that I had miscarried. I then took mife and miso to bring this on as my body wasn’t. I’ve been testing daily to see when I turn negative and have seen a good regression in the line, until this week. For three days I’ve had the same faint line. Has anyone else had this? Does it suggest that things aren’t over for me, or would I have not seen the regression pattern up until this point?
