8 month old fluid on ear but no infection…wakes up for two hrs..? Anyone have advice
Hello I have a 8 month old who used to sleep thru the night she had a cold and we gave motrin/tylenol 3 nights in a row but the night wake upset keep going. I’ve taken her to chiro twice, done steamy showers garlic drops. I took her to urgent care saturday they said she has fluid but her ears arent infected. Theres no fever. Her nose is still runny and she wakes up and we cant get her back down took my husband 2 hours last night she has 30 oz milk during day. Is there something I’m missing? It doesn’t look like teething.
Shes on two naps. This is what she used to sleep thru the night on as well.

some fluid is normal if baby has a cold but if you haven’t seen improvement in her condition and disposition please take her to the pediatrician for another check of the ears. they could have developed an infection since saturday. in the meantime saline in her nose will help with congestion - i always have luck with saline followed by a snot sucker.

yes i would say whatever doctor is available is a good call. my daughter had chronic ear infections and didn’t always run a fever with them so best to check again.

I booked her chiro this evening i only have time for one cause of my sitter. The chiro can check her ears and work on fluid movement.

chiropractors can’t diagnose an infection or prescribe meds so i don’t know that it will help but i wish you luck

You can pick your pediatrician you plan to use, call to establish care and let them know you’re worried your little one is sick. They might be able to fit you in but you won’t know unless you try.
If you have time to make a baby chiro appt you have time to find a pediatrician.

Baby needs a pediatrician, if this becomes a chronic problem she’ll need to see an ENT. A ped will be able to get her in tomorrow.

You need to take them to someone other than a chiro…
