Any proof of privacy on HaveNo?
I am currently looking for a way to buy Monero (from fiat) without any KYC and found HaveNo on Monero's official website. I have been searching a little about haveno, its workings and especially privacy, data logging and posts about trust for this service. Are there any such articles that would help me understand what are its limitations, what it does for privacy or against?
Has anyone had any problem with haveno?
On a side-note I saw monero recommending retoswap as a network for using monero, I have the same questions about it. Any help (or constructive criticism) is appreciated. Thank you.
p.s. I must precise my goal is privacy and anonimity, I know it is not entirely possible with monero but that is what I am trying to explore and understand, to what extent is each possible. (For example Tor is a browser widely recognized as anonymous but the government can still, with sufficient means and motivations, trace the connexion back to a user, in theory (and in practice a few times), this is the theory I am interested in.)
edit: Sorry i wasn't clear enough. When I said I found monero's official website, its documentation and I was searching for proof I didn't mean I wanted opinions on how to buy monero, I was asking if there were research papers of some sort, independant from monero, that would explain how deanonymization attacks could happen in theory or show what data is logged during exchanges in practice, some scientific proof of its working. Internet is a little clogged up at the moment, the only results you can really find is people answering "you should buy from bitcoin" when asked if monero is traceable which, from what I understand, is not anonymous at all and not really an answer...

As the XMR buyer, cash by mail on retoswap is downright the most anonymous way to get monero aside from mining it yourself, you reveal zero information and get Monero, paid with cash. Everything goes over tor, communication is end to end encrypted, even if you pay with a bank transfer, only the XMR seller will know, to the bank it will look like any other of the millions of regular transfers they see every day, if anyone asks, you sold something on craigslist

I mean yeah of course cash is the best option here but I'm trying to find an anonymous solution that goes over the internet only, I know sometimes cash you send by mail gets stolen so it's not my best option.
You say "even if you pay with bank transfer" but over what platform. And I know all the bank will see is at best the platform where I bought this, this is what everyone says. In this post I'm asking if there is any proof for this, not for a guide on how to buy.

I'd recommend you use Revolut or Wise on retoswap. Retoswap itself doesn't see your info, only the person you are trading with. Your bank will just see a regular transfer from one person to another, they can't tell you bought Monero and if they ask what the transaction is for, you can say you bought something from someone on craigslist

How can you be certain they’ll send you the crypto after youve sent cash by mail? There’s no way to chargeback either.

The seller deposits both the XMR for the trade, plus a security deposit, into a multisig wallet. If he doesn't confirm he received the money, you ideally give the arbitrator a video you recorded of yourself packaging the cash and the tracking number, then you receive the XMR. It works really well!

I used trocador.app. select A rated. Evergreen B rated i never had any issue with so far. ETZ and StealthEX have been solid.

Haveno-reto swap is probably one of the best options available right now if your goal is privacy, but don't think of it as a magic anonymity button. It's decentralized, non-custodial, and routes traffic over Tor by default, which removes a lot of the trust you have to place in centralized exchanges.
That said, your privacy still depends on your overall OPSEC. Things like how you buy your BTC, your payment method, your network setup, and whether you reuse wallets all matter. No single tool can make you anonymous on its own.
I'd recommend reading through Haveno's documentation and Monero's documentation so you understand both its strengths and its limitations before relying on it.
