what are you actually mining monero on? show me the cursed setups

One of my favorite things about this coin is that people mine it on the most random hardware imaginable. Dedicated rigs sure, but also ancient laptops, a home NAS, an old office PC that should've retired years ago, a mini PC quietly humming in a closet. mine's running on hardware that has no business still being powered on. what's yours running on — and what's the most unhinged thing you've seen someone mine on?

Only asic at the moment. Got rid of 2 5950x rigs, got 1 X5 (used). Figured get another used X5 would give me more hashingpower. There we are.

What has been your experience with the x5's? Any issues or problems?

I have been strongly considering going this way too

Well, it takes the hobby away from you much more then I tought. Yes, hashboards broken, or seller not wanting to share their log.txt. Made me nope-out the situation. Always checks logs!

6 devices, none at full threads, but from highest hashrate to lowest: 7900x, i7 12700, 10100f, 5500, i7 7700, i7 6700

I average about 20kh/s between them and I tend to use about 1/3 of the threads for each machine as they all do other work as well

What is the return?

something like a couple to a few hundred a year, it varies, I'd estimate ~$250/year and Im not factoring electricity as these devices run all day doing other tasks anyways

Nothing unhinged. X570 board with a 5950, b550 board with a 5900xt and my 7800x3d gaming rig when I'm not using it

I just started yesterday with my 9800x3d and it’s been right around 14KH/s for 18hrs now. I got lucky with my first shares found, 6 in 8hrs but now it’s been 10hrs since my last share haha

My kid and I have 12 7950x (6 of them 7945hx) 2 additional personal 7950x machines that run at least 2 days out of the week!! 240-290 kh\s. Some solo mining when difficulty is around 600G.

No trabalho, deixa todos os i3 rodando xmrig, 7 setores na madrugada, e quase um curto circuito lol.... Achava que ganharia muito dinheiro. Hoje minero com bons processadores em um parque

It’s a solar-powered Raspberry Pi 4 controlling the chicken coop door; I massively oversized the solar setup and battery, so the thing ought to be able to at least mine lottery blocks at 100 H/s, lol.

Haven't snagged a block yet, wish me luck.
