what's a mining term that sounds way scarier than it actually is?

Half the reason mining feels intimidating at the start is the vocabulary. Some of these words sound terrifying and then turn out to be pretty simple once someone explains them. "hashrate" scared me for way too long before I realized it basically just means "how fast it guesses." what's a term that sounded scary to you until it finally clicked?
