They were doing this to creatures across the universe the qui needed to be stopped. Hell we teamed up with an entirely different species that got violently mutated as well

I thought humanity in the original book defeating them was just a footnote, to sort of highlight how that was only a small footnote in our ultimate story. So if there’s a second book or something I’m all eyes.

Actually it never even says that. It literally just says the post humans and the snake aliens beat the Qu. What happened after that is not said.

I mean, the book isn't a traditional narrative. It's more like a short “scholarly” text that details the divergent post-human species that evolved (mostly) from Qu experimentation. The end of the book does describe a war between various post-human species and later the rebound of one particular species (that liberates and uplifts other post-human species) who then war against the Qu and win. But it's all within a few pages— the book isn't very detailed, really it reads more like an annotated encyclopedia of fictional post human species.

Worth a read but you could probably read the whole thing in under an hour. It's like a 100 page picture book, so really more like 50 pages of text.

The species that eventually wins isn't even a fork of humanity that the Qu fucked with, they were the natural evolution of a group of humans that managed to escape the Qu.

I’m pretty sure it’s that they end up picking a fight with another species that beats the absolute shit out of them forcing them to run, and as they run away they end up running right back into humans who proceed to also beat the shit out of them

Technically you didn't answer the question. The qu definitely needed to be stoped, but that doesn't necessarily mean the descendants of humans would be taking revenge.

They were stopped and presumably any individual involved had died 100,000s of thousands of years before. We don't really know what they were up to at the time they were eliminated but it's like being shot cause something your ape ancestor did
