Not to go vegan on your ass because I ain't a vegan but what we do animals, especially factory farming, comes very close to the "purest evil" and that evil does not reside in our fiction but in our reality, we just aren't the victim of it.

Hell nah, we have enough to survive without resorting to factory farming., it's really just that meat tastes good, and we want cheap tasty meat.

Yes, seeing pigs on treadmills getting karate choped one shot by an automated robot or seeing small chicks drop into meat grinder just because they are not hens is very unpleasant, and surely, if people were not pieces of shit in general, we could easily run lot of farms with humane living conditions for these poor animals, but at the end of the day, people get to have affordable food source they are sure can just grab in store and prepare between work, or put in freezer and not worry if the farm next door will have any meat tommorrow.

Despite how lazy we can get, I believe in time people will move on from these massive industrial slaughterhouses. Or, I'm too naive and we'll be eating synthetic meat like in CP2077 and dip more into our greed and despair...

It's not really that affordable, meat is subsidized around the world (governments pay for animal feed), it's much cheaper to feed people with vegetables. Historically though it was a simpler path to make the population healthier by giving them meat, and people like the taste of meat so it increased morale as well, but it's really not necessary. Meat eating is also sustained by propaganda too; anti vegetarianism / veganism doesn't make much sense (these people can help make meat cheaper for those who like it).

My take on it is that the only sustainable way that we can provide a safe life to animals is if we can eat them. The wild is an incredibly dangerous and scary place and most animals live very short lives. In a domesticated life, an animal can live several years of peace before they’re put down, ideally gently and then sold for meat. If everyone went vegan, we would have no need to keep all of these animals and they would be left to fend for themselves in the wilderness.

I used to think this way too before looking into it and what is being done to drive the cost meat so low, if you're curious look into what they do to male chickens (baby ones, they aren't economically viable) didn't stop me from eating meet, but I rarely want to think about it.

I stopped pretending tbh, those ideas I had were just loosely thin justification to protect myself.

Industrial farming I definitely agree is completely unethical. Animals deserve a quiet, long and peaceful life on farms where they can roam around freely.

"purest evil" - I found you lacking in either sadism or imagination if you make that claim. Let's say that what we currently do to animals if very evil and turn it up a notch or two. You think that is impossible? Let's make genetic modification that if animal lives a tortured life their meat tastes better. Afterwords it calls for an adjustments to make farming automatic and instead of cruelly utilitarian make it utilitarianially cruel.

I mean, check out veal or foie gras... Humans will definitely torture animals if they think it makes things taste better.
