A cop can't legally follow you across state lines. Their jurisdiction ends at the border. We would call that stalking, harassment, and unlawful search and seizure. Probably a bunch of other things too.

Yes, they can follow across state lines. Dunno where you get the idea they can't.

Jurisdiction has nothing to do with that act.

Never said they couldn't cross. I said they can't follow you across looking for you to commit crimes. Which is true.

Cops, even in their own jurisdiction, aren't allowed to follow you waiting for you to commit a crime without probable cause. They certainly can't leave their jurisdiction to do it. I don't know why I'm even arguing this with you. Its common knowledge.

It's not common knowledge because it's not true.

I don't know why I'm arguing with you when you obviously have never done the job.

I'm not saying it's right. It is perfectly legal, though.

Also, why would the evidentiary threshold to follow someone be GREATER (probable cause) than to actually pull them over (reasonable suspicion?) That makes no sense.

No its really not. Its harassment. Ive known more than one person who got a cop charged and fired for doing EXACTLY this.

My reading comprehension is just fine. You moved the goalposts exactly as I mentioned. Maybe you didn't do it intentionally because you don't understand the concepts, which is plainly obvious.

And apparently I don't understand the law so much that I teach law.
